If they wanted to land you in prison, they would have taken you to a holding cell right after the accident happened, and the only way you'd be out is if you had a meeting with a magistrate to set your bail. You're not going to jail over this.

so do u think if i was completely honest to the judge and showed responsibility for that accident that he would lower the fines or something,like i wish i can get a lawyer but i really cant afford one!!

The only way he could "lower your fine" is if he reduced the charges, but considering the situation/scenario, there's no way any self-respecting judge is going to let you off the hook. You may be able to work out a payment plan, or something of the like, with the court secretary, though

I'd also plan on getting your license suspended, for a certain amount of time and then also until all your fines are paid. good luck with this one, you'll need it.

I agree with smokey panther, your not just going to say " i cant afford it " they say,... yes u can your going to get a job, make payments to the court until your fine is payed off.

NO way will you do jail time, 100% you will lose your driving priveledges for an undetermined amount of time but youll just get fines.


I got my first speeding ticket in my 94 T/A... 111mph in a 50mph zone, it was all country rds and there was a cop sitting at a grain stop...

I got around 500 dollars in fines, no accident.
I didnt even get arrested

If your really an international student as you claim, then you are a guest in our country, obey our laws and when you you screw it up, take the blame like a big boy and pay your price. you deserve to go to jail... you could have killed people but that never crossed your mind huh?

Wow, as long as ironranger is not your judge. I still say you have nothing to worry about. Youll pay something like $170 in court costs and what ever the speeding ticket was. Everything else will get dropped when you tell the judge about your clean record (prolly without that)...

i say at worst you have to pay a partial fine and the judge gives you an *** load of community service. How old are you?
i live in arizona and i have been to court a couple times :D

ok so u thought that the speed limit was 45 but u decided that to go around 65 and u think u were wrongfull ticketed for extreme speeding? noob

you know what ? I dont slam on anyone, check my post history, but it pisses me off when people abuse the rights that I fight for....he is comming here for a jail house lawyer advise because he wants to avoid due justice.

Try being in the Orient Rd jail in Hillsborough county when they do monthly raids in Wimauma.

But your best bet is to mention your clean driving record and be as respectful as you can be without seeming like an *** kisser. You'll pay some court fees, the tickets, and maybe get community service. As far as community service is concerned, I know around here you can pay off yoru community service by paying $10 per hour you're sentenced to. Well worth it IMO.

courts will always let you pay in installments.
And sometimes when your license is suspended, you can get permission to drive to work or school.

As long as you bleeding hearts sympathize with this behavior, your insurance rates will climb, even tho it's only a v-6,but hey, he's only a guest, so we will be left to pay up in the transgressions that he leaves.
