Is This Normal?

Hey guys, I just bought my f-body a few months ago and I'm still an uber-noob when it comes to cars. It's a 95 3.4L auto with 64,xxx miles.

Anyways, I was measuring my 0-60 time and its around 10.5 seconds even when I have a perfect take off. It just seems really slow to me. I've been reading up on all the threads here (and on google) but have yet to find anything listing what a normal 0-60 time would be. I'm wondering if my car needs some work or if 10 seconds is run of the mill for a stock 3.4?

3800 is supposed to do it in 7.xx seconds....

Yeah, that's what I thought. So I dont get why I'm in the 10's.

D, everything is normal, it is pretty quick until it hits 35-40 and then it just diiies. I know this is an issue with the v6's but even still it seems like i should be getting low 9's high 8's

then disregard your numbers. Go to a track if you want to see how fast your car really is

My old 3.4 probably got down to 60 in about 7 or 8 seconds. I know for goddamn sure it wasn't 10 seconds though, plus its an auto. The speedometer lags a bit, but not 3 seconds 'a bit'. You could be bad at driving a stick. 3.4s fall on their face ten times over above 80ish, but until then they give it hell.

my M5 3.4 wound up to 60 pretty fast 7-8 seconds....she hung with a 3.8 with a shift kit and a few mods. now its beast so i can't compare it
