I need help!
ok so I've started down a new path in the dating world. So im going out tonight with a girl and shes bringing her daughter so I can meet her. Now her daughter is only 5 but I've never been around children. Im at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?

From what I have read, the children should be kept out of it until you guys are very serious. Dating is confusing to children. If you just starting dating this girl, do NOT meet the daughter yet. To answer your question. 1) Respect the child. Treat children like real people. That goes a LONG way. Talk to her, and be interested in what she says. 2) Joke around and tease her. At least that works well for my son. Example, sing a song, but put the wrong words in it. Kids love it when adults are 'wrong'. 3) Play. My son had a blast playing with Mike (SilverRS) and asks when he's coming over again. -

I dated a girl back in the day that had a 3 year old boy. He and I got along well; he loved my "bouncy truck." Geez... he's probably going on 13 now.

if shes 5, shes probably too young to resent you and fully understand the situation. so as said before, just be a nice friend. if you win over a kid, you will have her mom! whenever im dating girls, i make sure to be really nice to them. that means that when it ends, i can have their mom too ;)2002 SOM Camaro- Sold

I never seem to have luck with girls, but befriend her daughter first and foremost. Girls love it when you comment about their children...at least thats what I'm told.

My fiancee had 2 kids priore but we both agreed to bring me into picture until re were dating for a while. Mom probably wants to make sure your ok with her having a child but I don't think introducing her to you right off the bat is best idea, but thats the great thing about this country, We all have our own ideas.
