From what I have read, the children should be kept out of it until you guys are very serious. Dating is confusing to children. If you just starting dating this girl, do NOT meet the daughter yet. It is much, much too soon.
To answer your question. 1) Respect the child. Treat children like real people. That goes a LONG way. Talk to her, and be interested in what she says. 2) Joke around and tease her. At least that works well for my son. Example, sing a song, but put the wrong words in it. Kids love it when adults are 'wrong'. 3) Play. My son had a blast playing with Mike (SilverRS) and asks when he's coming over again.
