  • Aurora - Fact or Fiction?

I was watching the discovery channel today and watched a story about secret aircraft. There were the F-117b Nighthawk (Intense Blue), the Light Blue x-plane (a spy plane concept (FAILED)), the B-2, the SR-71, and the one aircraft that caught my eye...the Aurora. I know about all those aircraft down to the specs of its payload and combat radius', although I know the specs of nearly every aircraft concieved, I have no idea that the Aurora was. Apparently it is supposed to be an SR-71 successor. I have the security clearance to investigate, but wont be able to until I go to Dallas again for drill. Although through my investigation here on the non-secret internet, I found that it's mentioned to be able to fly 4 times the speed of sound...thats from here to Iraq in 3 hours. There are many interpretations of what it looks like, and many are relatively close in shape, size, and stabilizer shapes. The only question I pose, is do you think its real? Although it sounds real with all the claims and interpretations, I still hold my doubts...

Also, whats your fav aircraft? Mine is the fictional ADF-01 Falken from Ace Combat 5 and Zero...

Regaurdless of your security clearance, you wont find any thing when you go to Dallas because if you needed to know about it then you would all ready be informed.

How long until people knew about Sr-71 as oppose to when it was built and started flying missions. It could be real, lots of planes are built, flown and then never go into production for whatever reason.

Your right about the need to know, but there's also room for personal enjoyment of information in the secret world. Not to share it with the world, but just to prove theories, like area 51 and aliens, or the JFK assassination. As of the SR-71, it was originally built in the late '60s. We still have withheld facts about it, like the production numbers and the flight ceiling. The Aurora is somewhat of an urban myth right now, but I just would like to hear opinions based on facts/details found about the spyplane.

Imagery has been since blocked out of google maps, when it comes to a timeline. Its still there, but you cant zoom in on it anymore.

hell, i'd do it if i could. but the military is kinda wierd, i think, with their security clearances. a buddy of mine is enlisted air force and works on the awacks (plane with the big radar on the back of it.) he has a pretty high clearance and cant talk about the plane.

edit-he lives and works in ok city as well.

And yet your coming on to one of the most public arenas in the world bragging almost about your "clearance". Bet your commanders would love to hear about that. Anyone who gives a rip about their security clearance doesn't go onto a public forum and brag they keep to themselves cause if they really knew anything worthwhile they put themselves and others in jepaordy opening their traps.
