Re: I have a project for tomorrow

Here's what I got. They're not Energy Suspension, but they are urethane. Looked fine to me. I got the front and the rear.

Here's the grease that guy recommended. I hope it wont degrade urethane.

What is this insulator and would I need this as well?

Both my shock mounts looked like the right side mount on that site. Maybe the picture of the left side is wrong. And yeah, you would need the insulators. I assumed they would come with the shock mounts but I guess they don't. If you live in a dry climate, you may not even need the new mounts. If you can live with your car being out of commission for a couple days, you may just want to try getting the upper shock bolt off, and if you can't, order in the mounts. Might save you a chunk of change if the bolts are manageable.

I've heard plenty of recommendations to use marine grade grease. I didn't have any laying around when I put my new sway bars in, so I just used graphite, but if they start making noise, I'll be adding some marine grease. However, the ES endlinks I put on specified not to grease them on the package.

No, I only have one day to get this done... and get the alignment.:)

I didn't use any grease. This is the first I have heard of it.

I used the graphite lubricant I mentioned on the ES bushings, not the endlinks. I went with the package and didn't put any kind of grease on the endlinks. So far they aren't making any noise.

This whole thing should be moved to suspension at this point. It started out as a "look I'm lowering my car" and became a techy post.

Yeah, I was kinda wondering if putting lube on the endlinks really mattered much.

sh!t I hope not. I heard nothing from the rear. I have not driven it since changing the front and lowering the car.

Hmm... This is the only clamp I own.

                          Think that'll be big enough.

By the way, my poor truck has been reduced to a work bench. :(

yeah my endlinks box said not to grease them either, only on the sway bar bushings did it say to grease them, and as far as having to use a c-clamp when installing the sway bar endlinks I didnt have too. Mine went on just fine, oh and using an air wrench on the endlink bolts makes the work go so much faster.

hold one of your new endlinks next to it. Should be close.
