Re: custom gps install
I'm thinking about putting one in my A pillar using the space between the pillar and the dash, but thats just me. Another place I'd try would be getting one of those gauge pods that sits ontop of the dash (one that curves and molds well with the rest of the dash) and carving out the pods to make room for the GPS. Those are just a couple thoughts, though...

Re: custom gps install
I 96 camaro and I have mine installed in that big hole, with the wires rerouted to the back so you cant see them...plus I made a sweet cover to hide it when I leave the car....I'll try and get some pictures of it up 2night when I get home...

Re: custom gps install
ok here are the pics of my custom install...the plate that covers the gps Im going to put a chrome badge off of a buick on it that reads 3800 throttle port injection...im waiting for the piece to come in the mail but here is what I have so far...and no you can't see any wires:banana:...pics are taken with a camera phone...and that one wire is an auxilery wire for the deck that I no longer need and will be removing soon...
you can see the cover below is a pretty good match with the console plastic...when you look through the window you really dont know anything is there its awsome...
I hide the cover in a little slot below my radio...just pointing that out....

Re: custom gps install
I first made a template out of cardboard, then I used that cut out the shape from a sheet of abs plastic, then with a bit of sanding I got to fit, put some vinyl on it and it stays via pressure fit...trick is to sand a little bit at a time
