And Speeding Firebird- I understand what you're saying, but it's just a bad situation in general. It becomes a matter of do we want to keep losing our guys like we are while saving their women and children, or do we want to save our own guys and risk the safety of innocent people? Either way we lose.

By the way, PBS is hosting their Frontline: Bush's War online. Its very long, but one of the best detailed accounts of this war in our time.

I would love to have military experiance a prereqisite for being C in C, especially more than just ROTC, but I don't see that ever happening

Better in what ways? I believe McCain is better than Hillary, but IMO an ape with down syndrome would be better than Hillary.

McCain would love to stay in Iraq. I don't believe, given America's current economic situation and due to public opinion, that we need to be in a war at the moment. We need to finish our business and return home. Iran is a no. Of course, America is much more screwed up than that, its not as easy as just pulling out of Iraq and boom, all of our problems are fixed. We are intertwined very deep into a large amount of things that are probably not good for us in the long run.

Seriously, watch that link I posted (the video is very long). Its incredible how much of a personal agenda Bush came into the White House with. He did not want what was best for the people. The three sections of our government are supposed to watchdog one another, not provide extremely easy back-door passages for new (not to mention self-saving, or self-satisfying) laws to be passed.

Yeah the war isn't really our most pressing issue this year, we've got a lot of problems that need to be dealt with within our own borders, but if we pull out it will have all been for nothing. I wish Colin Powell had ran for office. I just don't like a lot thats come out about Obama in the last few months (the guy who claims to have proof that he had relations with Obama in '99 and he's part of a racist church) and also I'm concerned about him being so young to be a presidential candidate and his stance on gun conrtol is 100% opposite of mine. Just my personal opinion on his views, not asking anyone to agree with me.

At this point, it almost is a pre-req. Example: You do not have to be religious to run for President, but right now if you were to run stating you're not religious you have the same chance at winning as you do finding a chameleon in a tie-dye mirror room

We didn't just oust Saddam, we're also fighting Al Queda which is more important. If Iraq is the battle ground for these terrorist that's great.

One thing is for sure I'm not voting for the 2 clowns that battling it out right now. Those are poor candidates for the Demo.
