Thats all, I'm effed then. I think I owe about $150,000 or so. 2 cars paid off, 1 car note, 1 house note, and some credit card debt. If I sell the Mustang that'll wipe 11k of it

Best way to get out of debt? Do what I'm working on- get Donald Trump or Bill Gates to sneeze on you, say you got the flu and had to stay home from work causing you to get fired, then sue the sneezer for emotional distress and 20 million dollars. Then they'll pay you like 8 million dollars to never bother them again.

The problem with our economy isn't the politian's fault. It is the individuals who are buying $400k houses on a $70k income thinking they will be fine with their interest only loan. Too many people are living outside of their income. Just wait until this passes and all these people are pissed when they can't retire because they have no savings

What?! You have to actually pay for the house or they will forclose on it?!

Aren't the reserves there in case of a major emergency or shortage? I have heard arguments both for and against using the reserves, and I am not convinced either way.

This is so true. So many people maxed out their spending potential with a low ARM. When the rate went up, they could not afford the payments. What part of ARM were they confused about? :slap: Now the gov't is bailing them out!

I agree with you Eric, we have a borrow happy culture. Banks carry some blame here because they let people borrow past their potential to pay back. They push ARMs and IO loans, and borrowers are too stupid to understand the impact.

These people that are blowing all of their cash and relying on social security are in for a major disappointment.

Indeed they are but I dont think that if you let out a couple million of the 300 Million barrels we have that it will effect it that much when they will put it right back anyway.

Here in NC we still have the state tax on our gas prices (Unlike just about every state in the US who doesnt) $0.47 of every dollar goes to the great state on NC. so if they take the tax off we'd be okay here. My previous statement "B" would benefit the US, maybe even the world.

But that is just using tax payer's money to try to reduce the price. So I pay less in gas, but pay more in taxes? I do not see how this helps.

Don't most states? Maine just hiked their gas tax by like 40 cents.

I don't think Vice Pres. Cheney has anything to do with this. This is way before him. We're talking about Bush Sr. era.

As far as without Congress approval THAT IS COMPLETELY BS!!! I've been hearing that since Bush Sr. era when in truth Congress backed him up all the way. History is already showing this to be true and Bill Clinton lied about it during his campaign and the liberal media backed him up in order to get a Dem. President in the White House.

90% of the Demo. voted for this current war and so did most of the Rep. Sen. Obama is one of the few who didn't vote for this and Hilary is wishing that she never did. You see what I mean. In time History will judge Bush Jr. and I have a notion that History will be in his favor.
