for those who follow the war,
SSG. Matt Muapin was captured in Iraq 4 years ago.
this weekend, the military this weekend pos. identifided his remains.
I hope his parents can sleep alittle better knowing that he is not suffering anymore.
you know what i found odd though about this? on the local news they did a timeline on him from the day he went missing to the day he was found. he got 3 promotions in the time he was MIA. how in the hell does that work exactly? i dont have a problem with it but it seemed kind of odd.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

it is wierd... but, people are always appreciated more when the pass away... painter's paintings go up and/or become famous, unliked people become liked, possibly heros later (like some presidents)...

one of those top secret missions that no one can know about, but they say he was missing...then he died and they say they found his remains, but they knew where he was the entire time...
I dont know...I dont know the story, someone post a link to it...I was just thinking about some of the crazy things I've heard about area 51 and personel in those type of top secret areas on discovery channel...
If I recall right he was an 88mike (truck driver) nothing secret,
and as far as the premotions go the military does that based on time in service, and how an average soldier would be premoted in his mos (job)
Nothing real seceret here. The army right after 9/11 started opening a fast track to go straight from basic to SF but he would had to have been much deeper than that to go "missing" do missions and all that. In other words you never would have heard the name mentioned by the military again. Also, he was only a reservist so unlikely he would have been involved in anything big.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

what you're thinking of is posthumous promotions. Vanbibber's question is why he was getting promoted when he was missing (i.e. assumed alive), not why he was promoted after his remains were found
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
