I only used it on gas, and paid it in full every time the bill showed up. It was like 0% interest for 6 months on purchases so It was like paying with cash.
My second credit card showed up, for $7,500. Sh!t. I used that pretty quick and was pretty surprised when I went to swipe it, and it said Declined, I maxxed it out.
So I trashed it, and paid it off in a few months and now just use credit when I need it & actually have really good credit now.
mine is 700...I pay it right when the bill comes in in full...sometimes even before the bill comes in so I can use it if I max it out...but then I know if Im getting too carried away...I think low limits are better, helps you keep track if you get too carried away
I really only use mine for car parts and gas...I still like the feel of cold hard cash
There is nothing wrong with a credit card if you use it responsibly. Plus, you need to build credit early in life so you will be able to buy important things like a house or a car if you want to take out a loan for one. If you don't have the money to buy something don't buy it.
wawa ftw(if your lucky enough to know what wawa is)
 to CHASE.. Best customer service and most reliable... I personally have 7 credit cards...I usually assign each to different purpose .. (i.e. one is assigned to just gasoline and EZ pass toll, one is only grocery, one for food related to restaurant, chinese, sushi, fast foods etc, One given to dad to buy whatever the F he wants to buy, etc) This way I can track every expense... as Hokiebird said that there's nothing wrong with credit cards if you know ur limit and how to spend them... I believe last time I checked which was 3 months ago, my credit score was 740+ which is pretty good IMO ..
I am always on time with my credit card bills and I thought that's all it counts to keep a good record... I absolutely ignored my cell phone bill... i used to be late, forgot to pay for month, payed partial etc ... When I looked at my Credit Score 4 months ago, I saw this weird slope going up and down reflecting that in the history...my credit score went up and down because of that.. I was surprised... NOw, I have automatic payment plan with ATT wireless ;)
Best way to stay out of credit card debt- don't pay for luxuries on it, only use it for necessities. For any upgrades I want to make on my car, or if I buy something I don't actually need, I pay for it with cash. Just be careful, pay off the balance each month and not just the minimum, and you'll be good and build up great credit.
Im looking to get my first credit card. I have a feeling it will be really bad though because after a while I end up just going crazy (Starting to happen with my debit card). I would probably use it just for car stuff, mostly car audio. Ive been trying to save up for it but I never can.
Anyone have a good idea on what I should look into for my first credit card? I would want a low limit so I cant go super crazy. I read someone has one with a "no interest for 6mo" card. Id rather have one of those so I dont feel like I'm being r*ped by interest charges.
Just recently got my first card... Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard... was approved for a limit of $500, maxxed it b4 even leaving the store on computer stuff :P (8800GT, 700W SLI P.S., Razer Lycosa keyboard). I havent paid it in full as I cant just yet, but I pay WELL above the minimum each month.
Its pretty cool, so far, I have received $30 in BB Reward Zone bux... (which I used to buy my MP3 player:D)
wow I want something like that...I get F**K all lol...this suxs
get an RBC visa. You'll get points each month which can be redeemed towards things like gift cards at futureshop. You get one point for every dollar spent, and 10,000 points adds up to like 125 bucks at futureshop.
I've got 3 credit cards and a credit line...i use them all to get by with this MA degree
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
