the original was a chrysler one off, I don't think they actually designed it though. Movie was sponsored by chrysler, if I remember correctly there were K-cars and others scattered throughout.

That was actually called the MS4 which was a concept car designed sometime in early 1981 or somewhere around that time all I know was it crashed in 1983 from what I know.

It was based on the Dodge Daytona running gear and was a complete race car chassis. It was pretty much the Chrysler ME412 of the 80's if you really think about it.
