so i took my camaro in to be worked on b/c it pulled to the right. i put new tires on it, but it still pulled. so i took it in and found out i need a new wheel bearing upper and lower control arms, brakes and tie rod ends.,and also frame straightned b/c previous ownere wrecked it. end up costing 830 dollars.

Your supposed to replace both sides wheel bearings at the same time even if only one goes bad.
That price probably doesnt even include the other side, probably isnt neccesary but its what "they" say.

that sucks though, but it's alot of work to be done and yea, sucks.

wheel bearings, tie rods and control arms really are pretty easy to do, but some (most) people have no mechanical know-how whatsoever.

Hell, the wheel bearing is only 4 bolts and a "plug" in.

well i dont have time to do it and no where to do it. my driveway has 4 cars on it at a time and i wokr construction so i figured it would be easier to take it in. i hope it runs smoother and gets better gas mileage

Alot of times they grind really bad, metal against metal, sort of like when your brakes are bad, but worse.

I think mine grinded all the time, except for when id turn or something it would go away, I really dont remember, it's been awhile since it happened.

If it grinds, and it seems to be too loud to be the brake indicator, it's probably a wheel bearing.

I think they CAN get really hot and glow too

& I think they are about 200-250 a peice, they are all sealed so pretty much all you have to do is undo 4 bolts, pop it out of the spindle unplug the speed sensor and reconnct the new one.

bad wheel bearing usuallly is a grinding noise.

If its your front left wheel bearing, it is every time you turn right, and put pressure on left wheel bearing it will make a grinding noise., but if you make a left turn and put pressure on right wheel the noise goes aways.

Make sense?
