motorcycle accident 1 yr anniversary of a friend

A guy I know died last year around this time in a single vehicle accident, he crashed his motorcycle into a guard rail when he was drunk in the middle of the night.

This year, his 1 yr anniversary of his death, his friends are having a memorial run for him.

It's a good idea to have a memorial run and whatnot but their not being very smart about it, they plan to meet at like 11am, and "bar-hop" until about 6pm, then ride somewhere else where they have a catered dinner, and then go ride to more bars ending at whatever time.

The admission is like $25 dollars and is going to a charity, but jeezus... someones asking for it.

Lets ride drunk to celebrate the death of a fellow friend, especially on a motorcycle, WTF :twak:

I won't be joining this one.

I have nothing against motorcycles, I used to want one back then. But so far I personally know 4 people who have died, 1 who is now quadrapeligic, and a bunch of others who have fallen off.

You think they would've learned...

This guy that used to live across the street from me had a VERY nice motorcycle. Couldn't tell you the make or anything, but it was fully chromed and covered every night, basically his baby. Well a year ago at Bikes, Blues, & BBQ he wrecked it. Shattered his hip, cracked many ribs, got some brain damage and had to have a metal plate put in his head, along with totaling the motorcycle. Not sure if he was wearing a helmet or not, but it took him over a year to learn how to walk, do basic chores, and other simple things all over again. He had to have assisted living during that time and can never work a common job again.
