Ipod problem.....

Hey guys I really need your help..

I have a 5th generation Ipod video.. The problem is I'm hitting the play button and there is no sound coming out of the headphones but the song keeps going.. I already tried multiple headphones and that is not the problem. I tried resetting the ipod, didn't fix it and I ran a diagnostic test in the ipod and that also did not fix it. Any of you guys know what could be wrong. Thanks!!

Might be a bad ground in the headphone jack..... as long as you are positive that there is not some setting that turned the sound off. I would suggest comparing it one that you know works. Maybe a friend's, or one at the store.

i had a zen mp3 player before i got my ipod video, and my friend has an i pod too and they had the same problem, the connection between the headphone jack to the rest of the internal ipod components is probably broken.
try to move the headphone jack around and make a connection,
but your probably just going to need a new ipod :(
the new ipod touch is so cool, but the only one worth getting is the 32 GB and they're crazy expensive

A friend of mine has an ipod that only plays sound out of the left headphone. We tried switching out various headphones and even could only hear it through the lefthand speakers of her car using one of those iTrip fm transceivers. Try taking it to an electronics shop or contact Apple. She took hers to the Geek Squad and they were going to work on it.

An ex-coworker of mine does some ipod repairs... from what I have seen here do, its really not that hard of a fix. Look around into getting it fixed. I believe its basicaly just soldring the jack connections back on.
