I see were you are coming from but from my standpoint of owning and fully building a V6 F-body and owning 2 LS1 cars, and also owning 2 turbo 4 bangers I think I can relate to what he is trying to say..

It is more impressive or fulfilling for me anyway to have built up my V6 Firebird then it is to mod my WS6 for the simple reason that my firebird was the base model firebird, with the high performance model the V8 LS1 cars.. My V6 made 370rwhp untuned.. After I did the heads and cam built motor nobody asked me if my car was a V6 anymore, Everyone including LS1 owners asked me what cam I was running in my Formula!! Anyone on here who remembers what my car sounded like and what it looked like could vouch for that.. My car beat down on a 02 Z06, 05 Corvette, and my buddies Cam, 4400 stall, full bolt on 99 T/A .. Thats what makes modding a V6 firebird in my eyes more impressive then having a 11 sec T/A .. I can go to the track and see 20 V8 Fbodies run 11-12 sec passes but its not to often when you see a 11 sec V6 F-body at the track..

This crap has been going on for years except the engines one make fun of change. Go back to the late 60's early 70's when muscle cars ruled. If you had a small block, big block guys laughed at you. That is until a modified small block smoked them. Then they earned a little respect. Now, big blocks are pretty much gone and most new cars come with small blocks. Now the small block is top dog and those folks pick on the v6s. Tired of everyone laughing at you, build you v6 to smoke a v8. Most folks have the best bang for the buck logic. If you want to go fast, get the best platform and go from there. With modern domestic cars, it usually with a v8 car. Most folks don't see the point of starting with a smaller platform to achieve the same results. It will cost more and most likely not make as much power. Most see it as why would I spend 10 grand on a v6 and get 400 hp when I could spend 10 g's on a v8 and get 600hp. As in most cases, when people do who do not understand someone or there logic behind their decisions, they make fun of them for trying to be different. Like I said until you smoke them that is.

I want to add forced induction to my 96RS some day. Yeah I could drop out the v6 for a v8, but I want to see the look on someones face when they just got dusted by a blown v6 RS camaro. I want my 96RS to be different and I don't really care if you don't get where I'm coming from.

In fact, no one even cared when my Blowmaster rusted out on me and the car was a perpetual fart driving down the road. It was bad. This is one of the oldest, most exhausted topics. Who cares if people make fun of you for your v6 car? People will always find something to knock on.

lol, im just saying. everyone sits and b1tches about how they get crap for owning a v6 and the ones complaining have stock or close to it cars. do less whining like little girls and more modding and maybe they'll shut up.

besides that, im so tired of threads like this. just drive the ****ing car or go buy a v8 if its that big of a deal to you that the v8 guys pick on you. and to be honest, owning a v8 wont solve it either, you have ls1 guys that hate on lt1s, ls2/ls6 guys cut on the ls1s, ls3's cut on the ls2/ls6s and the ls7 guys cut on everyone. and thats just gm cars. cobra guys will make it known they can hang with the z06 or beat it. so unless you have a goddamn full blown race car its not really going to matter what you drive.

My neighbor has a nice black TA and he and I shoot the F-body sh!t all the time. Maybe it just because I'm not heavily involved in the performance car scene, who knows.

Haven't witnessed it myself. Most people are too shocked or impressed that a girl actually knows how to change the oil or can name off parts under the hood. :rolleyes:
