I'm right there with you. If I happen to catch someone doing anything to my car I will probably be the one going to jail.
More than anything I don't understand why her car was singled out. There was another 08 civic right next to it and a 08 lexus right next to that. There are a lot of cars a lot nicer than hers in our neighborhood. A guy a block down left his lambo parked outside on the street a while ago.

Yep. This same thing happened to a friend of mine. '03 Cobra. Took one of those nifty police shatter solenoids, took out the window. Instead of stealing the car, anything (he had $500 check in it) they took his insurance and registration. Next week his account was so overdrawn and he was so far over his credit limit it looked like he bought new york city. Theif charged over $20 k on his credit card.
not real positive reinforcment but, still some advice.

Not sure. I didn't have time to check out her car last night to see if there was an obvious point of entry. For all I know she may have left it unlocked.

I talked to her last night and it turns out some other stuff was taken. They took her debit card and some other random junk. Why she would leave her purse in the car I don't know.
She has already called the bank and changed accounts and my friend is calling the credit agencies this morning to let them know.

It's not like that. I'm not loaded. I have some nice things and make alright money, but for the most part I try to save as much as I can. I live with 3 other people in a town house we rent. The rent is dirt cheap (for this area). The 06 and 08 civics belong to the two girls I live with. They are pretty much scrapping by. The lexus belongs to my other roommate. He needs a nice car for his job and his work paid for part of it.
Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
