haven't had a single problem with my vista yet. got it on my laptop as well. xp was good though. i've never had a game not work though.
The only thing I can see that bugs me about vista is all the "permissions" you have, my dad has one for every program, I think theres a way to turn them off but they get on my nervess when I use his PC

There is a way to turn them off, I read about it in a PC Mag one day. I cannot recall how to do it though.

yea i hated that...for EVERY program it asked you that even on the internet
I'm a computer tech/consultant and I've been running Vista for almost a year with no problems. Go into the Control Panel, go into Administrative Tools, open the Event Viewer. See if there are any errors in there. I'm sure there are tons of them. Find the ones that repeat the most and post them here (including the Event ID). I'll see what I can do to help.
In the meantime, I also recommend running a scandisk (with the options to check for bad blocks, etc checked) then run a defrag. I'll bet you have an offending driver or AVG is slowing it down. You can also try disconnecting from the Internet (for this one test) and disable (or uninstall) AVG. See how everything local runs. If it is fast, reinstall or enable AVG and try it again. See if it makes a difference. If it does remove AVG and install Avast. Both are free but gamers like Avast because it makes the computer fast.
I use AVG because it'll CLEAN a file if it gets infected. Avast just deletes it.
2000 Camaro V6<br />I\'ve done nothing to my car worth note. :)
I've been seeing and hearing good things about AVG
Good: It's free and doesn't slow the computer down too badly
Bad: It only updates once a day instead of every few hours (widens the chance of getting a virus) and the company is in the Czech Republic. Good luck getting decent tech support from there.
You can get it from http://www.download.com and you won't have to pay $35+ per year to renew it like you do Symantec. It's free. Did I mention that?

Just 35 for Norton?? Wow I think we've been payin 59.99 but we havent updated in a couple years or so. Also I have heard the McAfee is much smaller in size then norton and does a lot better job. This is funny seeing as how my ENG project is on what I want to do (Comp tech) haha
AVG sounds interesting. I use Webroot right now and I am pretty happy with it. It does not slow the computer down like the McAfee did that came with the laptop.

That is a very nice offer. I will look at that when I get home tonight.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
