Talladega...anyone going?

Well the first Talladega race is next weekend, anyone going? If so, do ya plan on getting a hotel room or are you like me and camp at the track so you can see all the crazy stuff that goes on?

We use to go all the time... I love camping out and getting drunk as I can!!! Last time it rained just enough to get the ground wet and there was wild mud wrestling parties... I almost forgot about the race

I rarely drink any other time of the year, but at 'Dega, I throw the hell down. I always have a good time, whether its actin a fool or ragging all the non-Jr fans. As long as it gets me away from work for a week, it's all good.

If their is one track to make sure you visit, I'd say its Bristol, but Dega is def number two on my list... maybe then charlotte.

I rarely drink any other time of the year, but at 'Dega, I throw the hell down. I always have a good time, whether its actin a fool or ragging all the non-Jr fans. As long as it gets me away from work for a week, it's all good.

i went to the fall dega race last year. it was fun
im only 17 so i only got to watch all the drunks (still entertaining)

His father was a great driver, did things with cars and knew the game of aerodynamics better that most scientists. But his son is nothing more than a disappointment to the sport. He is a leech that has taken the name of Earnhardt and befuddled it.

BUT....

Talladega has more Earnhardt fans than I have ever seen in one place. Last time I was there it was sea of red. I was there a year after Earnhardt won his last race, when his son won. That was pretty cool. But its been bad ever since.

LOL ok ok so he's been in a drought, thats ok. And I'm still not the biggest Johnson or Gordon fan, but their now teammates...so some of my aggression has faded. Now with that said, let me remind yall... Jr is 3rd in points, Johnson is 4th, and Gordon is 13th. And if you want to talk about disappointments to a family name, Dale Jr wouldnt be it...Kerry yes, Jr no. Then we can mention Kyle Petty, he aint won jack since what? the 80's ...c'mon guys. I thought Dale Sr was a great driver...but Im not so blind that I wouldnt say he was sometimes an overly agressive driver.

You need to have a crapload of wins to be "in a drought". Jr does not qualify. I still do not see how somehow can still remain a Jr fan after switching to Hendrick. Overly aggressive? hahaha, that is putting it mildly. He was dirty as hell. He just had some of the greatest car control to keep from wrecking himself too.

Oh thats simple...I cheer for the driver, regardless of who the sponsor or team owner is. I'll probably get booed for this too, but Tony Stewart and Elliot Sadler are my next 2 favorite drivers. :tup:

I don't mind Stewart. There was a time I didn't like him, I actually left the Bristol night race with 10 laps to go because I wasn't going to watch him win.

I am not a fan of Stewart's driving style, but I enjoy the emotion he brings to the sport. He is one of the few that shows emotion.

If I had the money and time to go, I would, but the last time I went it cost me a good chunk of money, probably close to $800 for tix and everything for the weekend. So im not going this year, thinking about going next year.
