If someone is claiming you as a dependent (ie, parent), I don't believe you qualify.
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, which authorized the pre-payment of this one-time credit, stipulates that the payment is not to be made to any of the following:
* Individuals who can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's tax return;
* Nonresident aliens; or
* Anyone who does not have a valid Social Security Number.
If you become eligible during 2008, you may be able to claim the credit on your Tax Year 2008 return, but you will not receive the advance payment this year, since that is based on your 2007 return.
yeah I just checked that out and it looks like I don't get one since my parents filed me as a dependent and my return should have already been here
lol i get one, but it's going to pay off a credit card. I still have 2 months, 0% interest left, but I think I'm just gonna pay it off in full ;) School sucks to pay for

Actually value city has decent furniture for a very good price... last week I went to Ikea (1st time in my life since it's 1 1/2 away from home) and I was surprised at their prices ...very reasonable prices for a good to great furniture...

Naaaa.... Woodstock Furniture Outlet up here was having a big scratch and dent sale up here. We picked up an $899 entertainment center for $399... just has a little scuff on the bottom. Also got a $1000 hard wood dining table with 6 chairs for $499... I have yet to see any damage on that. All-in-all, pretty good deals I thought. Seems fairly well built too.
