Last month I sold some NASCAR tickets on e-bay two weeks and a few days before the event. My E-bay ad said I would mail in one business day using the USPS after payment was received. Two weeks and one day before the event, I mailed the tickets with delivery confirmation and insurance. (I asked for tracking and the USPS give me delivery confirmation instead. I did not notice at the time.) I sent the buyer the delivery confirmation number that night.
A few days before the event, I checked online and noticed the tickets had not been delivered yet. I called the USPS several times, and they said the package was in Indiana and likely at the buyer's local PO. I sent the buyer several e-mails asking them to check with their local PO to see what was going on. NO response. The day before the event, the buyer sends me a pissed off e-mail stating I never mailed the tickets. I responded by asking her to check her local PO. I also sent her a message over E-bay in case her spam filter was dropping my e-mails. I also filed a formal complaint with the USPS. They were suppose to call me back in 24 hours and never did.
Twenty-one days after mailing the tickets, I filed an insurance claim with the USPS. I send the buyer an e-mail stating if I get the insurance money, I will reimburse them fully including shipping costs. That night, no joke, the tickets are delivered (a week after the event so they are worthless). The buyer writes return to sender and sends them back. The post office denies the insurance claim because the tickets were delivered.
The buyer filed a chargeback claim with her credit card. Paypal sent me an e-mail stating they were processing the claim, and I was to send them (over e-mail) a copy of the delivery conformation, receipt for the USPS, insurance, etc. I scan it all in and send it to them that night. I get an e-mail a day later asking for the same thing. I send it to them again, and send a follow-up e-mail asking if the received it. No response.
A few days ago, I get an e-mail from Paypal. They issued the chargeback to the buyer, docked my account the amount, and charged me a ****ing fee! Now I am pissed. I send an angry e-mail to Paypal asking what was up, and they said I never responded to their request for the shipping info! I forward them the three e-mails I sent, and they said they cannot accept attachments. So I ask how the heck they expected me to send this stuff, and they provided a fax number. I faxed the documents over the next day. Meanwhile, Paypal said since buyer refused the package, so it was a dispute to be settled between the buyer and I, and it was not Paypal's problem any more. I told them they docked me the money AND charged me a fee, and it was their problem. I have heard nothing from them in a few days.
Certainly, I understand the buyer's position. She paid for something she could not use. I understand the USPS's position: the package (eventually) arrived.
However, as per my Ee-bay ad, I did everything promised. I also went out of my way to call the PO several times, send the buyer several e-mails, and do whatever I could think of to prevent this from happening.
I am getting ****ed here. Not just the tickets, but the e-bay fee and now this f-ing paypal fee. What options do I have? I suspect nothing.
Why the F does this crap keep happening to me? This world is REALLY pissing me off.
