errrr! Battery ?

so i went to get my camaro out of the storage barn so i could drive it home! yay! so i do what i do every year hook it up to a battery charger for like 10 min and its cool right WRONG! i hooked it up and all my dash light are bight like normal but it didn't crank over it just clicked and clicked errr this pissed me off!! i just wanna drive it home (its parked in a town about 15 min away) I'm gonna go mess with it today maybe but IDK i would guess it might need a battery i bought it in 02 and never had a issue with it and i cant read the date on the battery of when it was installed or the CCA is it 650?

you have to have it running at higher than idel to get it to charge. it will say that you have enough juice but you don't. get the car jumped, then take it for a nice longggg drive. if you still have a problem after that, you just need a new battery. nbd.

I had a battery for only 6 months, sat 4 of those, came back, charged it, never worked.

might not be the battery. you should find a way to test it instead of replacing it right away. unless money is not an issue, then why not

just take it out and run it up to any autoparts store. they can test it for free.

Money being no issue? ROFL. Batteries for our cars are $32 at Walmart.

did you leave it hooked up? you never know...you could have a bad cell. my batt was only about 7 months old

But my guess you need a new battery, if you got the car in 2k2, and its on the same battery its likely dead.

Running batteries flat dead reduces sometimes kills the battery on the spot. Then add that its 6 years old and I don't think I have even heard of a battery lasting 6 years(but I live in FL, heat kills em) that you might need a new batt.

ok up date i got it home for some reason the positive side terminal was kinda loose so i tightened it up charged it for like 10-20 min and it started up just fine! but i parked it in my drive way and it dided again we have a little asz trickle down charger and i hooked it up last night so it should be good soooo WHAT IS THE CCA FOR OUR CARS IT'S A 95 3.4

did you drive it after you started it? cause if you charge it for even 20 mins that might be enough to turn it over once. you need to get your car to start, THAN DRIVE IT. you battery wont charge to what it should be at until it's driven for a while.

my battery was dead. i got it jumped, drove 450 miles at 75-85mph. parked it. went out the next morning, and it wouldnt start.

and yeah, walmart batteries are $32, but other batteries are like 150...

$150? Where are you buying batteries? An optima is usually under $100.

CCA is Cold Cranking Amps. BTW, the charger is a temporary fix. If the car is going to sit for long periods of time (1 Month or more), you need to take the battery out of the car, and set it on something other than the ground.

PS, I have NEVER seen a car battery more than $90 tops, and thats an Optima. Steve, if you're paying $150 for a battery, you're getting anal raped.
