Either way, why would anyone buy that? A battery is a battery is a battery. Theres a specific makeup of materials in a lead oxide battery that creates the 12.6 volts. These materials (metals) of the anode and cathode that cannot be interchanged. Any 12 volt battery that has 6 cells is a lead oxide battery. Whether you get it from Wal-Mart or Optima, its the same damn battery. The only difference is that you don't have to put water in an Optima, but you don't have to put water in many batteries nowadays.

I'll spend $26 a Wal-Mart and get a battery, you go spend $150. Its all the same, cept I saved $124.

ok time for an update b4 someone kills someone else lol! I KNOW what CCA stand for and i know of a lot of people buying optima for more that 150.00 yeah thats a lot for a battery but the battery is fine the good old sears die-hard lives up to its name lol i took it off the charger tonight and i will take it on a good ride tomorrow to get the rear bumper repainted so i hope it will be ok o and i will put rims on!! yay! back to C5's

buy an optima and you will never buy another battery for that car, in fact my current optima is on it's second car. Put one in the wife's car when her stock battery died. I never have to worry about it again. When the time comes to get rid of my car I'll likely move the battery to the next car.

I did that with a cheap *** Duralast battery. Its STILL in my Monte Carlo after being in a Firebird AND a Ford Taurus for a short time. Nothing special. Its similar to people that buy Monster cables for your stereo system. Its a waste.

good thing about optima batts: you don't need to vent them, so they god for those looking for a "legal" rear mount batt in a hatchback.
