Alright here's the deal. Today I was coming home from Autozone and I swear I was started going through an intersection at yellow light. Now, I wasnt going to stop suddenly and let the person behind me rear end me. The reason I was coming home from Autozone was because I just picked up a new bulb for my stop light in my back cause one is out. Also the cop went through the intersection while it was red without her lights on.

Any information that anyone can give to me? The ticket was $83 and 3 points off.

Pay the ticket, and go on with life. You screwed up, wanna know why?

This is EXACTLY what you should have done. You should have stopped and let the person behind you rearend you.

I would just go and fight it. They just want your money, and maybe you'll be lucky enough to get the points taken off.

Make sure you listen to the guy who has been driving for 3 years, not the one who's been driving for 11.

Well if I listened to your advice back when I got a ticket in November, my insurance would be a lot higher and I would of had 4 points on my license. :(

First off I have been rear ended twice in my Camaro. One cost me $2000 because the person that rear ended me had no money, you think I wanna go through that **** again?

Yes, because you would have points taken off your license ( or on, depending on the state), and someone elses insurance would cover it. Thats the legal way, or you can do it the cheap coniving way and fight the stupid thing.

You fuct up, man up to it. I see these threads about once every 2 or 3 months, its amazing that people can ***** about society and their problems, but not take responsibility for their own actions. Thats all its about, taking responsibility.

This is why they have Yellow-to-Red laws in some states. Here it's fair game so long as the light was yellow when you entered the intersection, even if it changes to red immediately afterward. Of course, like all rules, it also has its downside. There's always someone sitting in the intersection that has to wait for you to go through before they can turn left, usually resulting in them running the red light.

Anywho, next time just stop. Unless the person was right on your *** or is not paying attention, you're probably not going to be rear-ended. Even if one of your brake lights is out, you still have two others that should work just fine.

Also, don't bother arguing with them about a cop running through the red light without her lights or siren on. It's not going to matter. They'll only perceive that as you being difficult.

just $83 bucks? sooo cheap. My stupid friend picked up one speeding ticket going 40 over the limit. $450.00 then because he is stupid and can't learn a lesson, less than a month later gets it again. wow another $450.00, not to mention the points. a few months later our Provincial Insurance company changes all the rules and send a ton of people a letter stating "you don't drive safely, it is going to cost you more." My friend also gets a letter but his says he gets a prohibition from driving for the next 6 months. mail in your license. I told him to stop speeding after his first ticket but he claims it was at night with no traffic and it isn't his fault. I told him to take responsibility for his own actions. The cop wasn't a jerk he was. It is a free country, you can do what you like but there are consequences for your actions. My vote is fight it if you like but don't be too upset if you end up paying it anyhow.

Wrong bro, she had no insurance, it wouldnt be points taken off my license cause she's the one that rear ended me. She gave false information but admitted to not wearing her seatbelt and not paying attention. I went to court for 6 months and still am going through **** for it. Fight it? **** yeah. And because I fought it, she has 2 warrants and she lost her license for a year or if I like, she can lose it for up to 20 years. So not fighting **** you think is wrong is just a waste of your time. And how is fighting stuff, coniving?

People are saying to man up. I manned up to my first ticket cause I knew what I did, but this cop is going to get it to her. I did nothing wrong if the light wasnt red and I went through it.

$83 is nothing. Here, running with no front plate is over $100.

Plead not guilty. Go to court. Ask for some consideration. They'll drop it down. Plead guilty to the lesser charge.

I swear I've said this before in another thread or two.

I say go fight it, you should never just mail in the fine, worst case scenario you get nailed with all of it, but even then it's the same as if you mailed it in and pleaded guilty, best case you get off scott free, but I think you'll prolly get a judge who will just be like "alright pay the fine, no points, 2 yr PBJ, don't do it again"
