Final Pinewood Derby tomorrow

Between my two sons, we've been going to Pinewood Derby races for the past seven years. Tomorrow is the final District race for our family - my younger son will be in Boy Scouts by this time next year.

Over the years, the boys and I have made:

Mario's Kart
Luigi's Kart
Bowser's cart
Car with working headlights
Tank
Monster truck
Firebird
Several ultra skinny cars with all the weight as high and to the rear as possible.

Every year, they always managed to place high enough in their Pack to get to the district race.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end...

pretty sure he is talking about small wooden cars... that you roll down a hill... my friend used to do it... he would always make a corvette... pretty cool, lets see them

I posted a pic a long time ago of my old derby cars. The gold one had working headlights and tail lights, and the police cruiser had working lights up top and even had the siren sound. :P

i used to do it when i was in the cub scouts. I was probably in 2nd grade...
I built one that was simple, but amazingly perfect. In the final, The guy who was putting my car at the top of the hill thing also happened to be my opponents dad, and he dropped my car! messed up the wheel, and i came in 2nd.

Me and my dad did this every year when i was younger and in the scouts. We won so many times that my last year in the scouts we got to go to a statewide event of over 3000 cars. i finished 122nd after a wheel fell off. It was the only reason I ever joined and stayed in the boy scouts.

Damn it seems like everyone on here made awesome pinewood derby cars. Mine always turned off the stupid track for some reason

The front row is my younger son's cars; the middle row is my older son's cars; the back row contains cars that did not race in official PWD races.

My son's car this year finished 17th out of 33 cars in the district race. He was happy because he won one of his heats. The district races are where the winners from the various Cub Scout packs in the area race agaisnt each other.

This year's car was the kazoo car in the lower right corner.
