Reminds me when my wife was prego. Strangers would come up and ask things like due date, boy/girl, etc. My response, "who the f--- are you, and why the f--- are you asking?"
Ah, com'on. Those people ask that because they love babies. Now the freaks that walk up and touch her belly out of the blue are crossing lines for sure.
Trust me, I read that in your post, I just wanted to also point out that sometimes staying quiet pays off. As Teddy Roosevelt once said "Speak softly but carry a big stick."
To a limited extent. Its hard to sit there and not say anything at all. Im far too blunt for that ****.

EXACTLY what I mean by manners being a matter of perception. THANK YOU Bone for making it so easy for me.

As for manners and class, all a matter of perception. What I consider logic some might consider rude. I don't really care, doesn't hurt me at all.
You cannot have a self centered approach to manners. Manners are about addressing other people and NOT hurting them. As you pointed out, there is no minimum standard here. One needs to pick up what is acceptable per person per situation they deal with. Manners are one of the absolute keys to success in the business world.

I like bewbies, but I don't walk up to every nice pair and ask about them and touch them.
Personally I'd rather be feared. Sure there are the side effects of paranoia and an overwhelming mistrust for most people but in the end it keeps everyone at a good safe distance because they don't know what the **** I'm going to do next.
Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

I want to move to your department and get me some BEWBIES!!!!
well reguardless, in different places you're going to make different salaries and also depends on different fields. I for one can say I'll be happy as long as I can support my family and live comfortably. I myself, along with my twin brother are probably going to open up a contracting business for testing and fabricating aesthetic apendages and pacemakers for human use. It's really a big business and by the time we both finish, he should have his masters from Rose Hulman for ME and BME. Neither oen of us plan on making wads of cash (although there is definately potential for it), but we know we'll be able to live comfortably. I'll have my BBA in business finance and also international business. It's all about what you want to do. if you can live off 10k a year and live comfortably and enjoy life, then more power to you. If it takes 500k+ just for oyu to make ends meet, then you better be prepared to work hard
Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979
