  • Movin to Nashville Sunday

So I got a job with a commercial aircraft builder doing avionics installation upgrades in Nashville. This is kinda my dream job. I've had a few jobs and the 5 years I was in Air Force I really like working on planes and can't wait to get back to it. It's a mixture of troubleshooting and turning wrenches so it keeps me on my toes and not the desk job I've had. I'm taking a 10% paycut but with economy sucking right now, going from contract work to being a full time employee with real benifits is worth that paycut. Once I'm there a year I start getting company bonuses twice a year, the last bonus would have been about $2,000 had I been employed there so I think it'll be ok and fiancee is planning on going to get her RN down there so whene she finishs up school we'll both be doing fairly well. I went down for a tour of facilitys 2 weeks ago and it was so mmuch better than what I'm use to working with in military. I have to have my own tools so now I finally have an excuse (and tax right off) to buy roll around tool box and more tools!

So besides the grand ole opry what else is there? I can't wait for my family to come down I saw this place called the rain forset cafe and looks like my kids will like it. Has anyone been to the zoo there? I have a family pass to Louisville zoo and they except it at the Nashville for free so were gonna check that one out too. ANyplaces to stay away from? I'm going to rent my House out in KY and looks like I'm going to get an apartment in Nashville for a year or so and see if then I can buy another house down there.

Well anyways if I fall off board for a while its not because I parted out my car and left it because I'm down there with no computer and trying to put roots down.

Tennessee is a wonderful state. I've heard the taxes are really high, however.

South of Nashville is really nice. I went to a county fair there and saw pig races and the Human Cannonball.

south of nashville would be the brentwood/franklin/cool springs area... very expensive part of town.. surrounded by the sticks... taxes are 9.75%.. .so yeah its a little ridiculous.. its where i live... kentuckys not so bad tho, i go to college close to their at APSU, the taxes there are only 6% and no sales tax on grocery items, unlike tenn. the zoo is pretty awesome, they just finished renivating it a little over a year ago, plenty of shade so you dont sweat to death... the rainforest cafe is in the opry mills... an extremely large mall...
