My father and I decided to get rid of my moms 03 sentra and got her a new 08 4 dr gti. all i got to say is damn that car can corner, and i love the paddle shifter (they would be better if they were larger). the best part, its white. hehe. we were looking at diffrent options before deciding for the v-dub. the new si was felt really nice, but it lacked that torque and the car looks like sh!t all over. ill post up pics of the car later. german engineering, in da houze, yaaah.

the only thing i dont like is the tiptronic shifter is backwards, like in most cars, up shift push up and down shift push down. its very inconvinient

I take it you have not had to get the back intake manifold bolts on the 3.8L. Or change out a Clutch Master cylinder.

and nothing like a car being 100% metric, not mixed metric/SAE

Every paddle shifter car I drove I hated.

The GTI is a cool car. There are a couple that race at the local SCCA.

Any compact car is a beyatch to work on. The Deutschland cars are harder to get parts for.

                    no clutch = FAIL

I wasnt impressed with paddle shifting either, awhile back I got a rental car and it was an 07 eclipse, i abused it good... wasnt too impressed.

one thing that is fustrationg about the car is once you hit the rev limiter, it automatically shifts even if you are in tiptronic mode. im kind of afraid of going all out in the corners kuz of that.
