Any good samaritans?

I got a call at ~5:35PM from my sister, she got a flat tire on the highway... she was about 1/4 mile away from the toll booth (on the ramp, but couldnt walk because there was a bridge with no shoulder), so i told her i would come help her. I had to drive all the way to the next exit (on back roads, because there is no place to get off the highway at the exit), then get on and drive back to her. the whole thing took me about 40 minutes. I got there and had to struggle to get the lugs off (on there insanely tight and im sore from the gym...). Then i had to kick the tire for about 15 minutes because the wheel was rusted on the hub.

This whole time, no one even stopped and asked if we were ok! I understand not stopping when i was there, but they were there alone for almost an hour. A cop drove past them and didnt stop! Two cute 22 year old girls... are you serious?


How many of you guys stop and help people who are stopped on the side of the road? I stop 90% of the time, Only reason why I wont is if it looks like someone who would kill me. And that will change in a few months when I get my CWP...
Most of the time its as simple as helping someone push their car into a driveway, giving them a jump, or helping them change a tire.

i usually stop to, or at least slow down and ask if they are ok... that surprises me... your sister with car trouble stranded in the early morning.. huh...

there are too many people with broken down cars or flat tires where i live, if i stopped to help i would never get anywhere.

But i did help a guy push a car into a parking lot and when i was leaving work one night i
tried to help some guy get his car running for almost an hour before he just called a tow truck. Ever sense a guy helped me push my car and let me park it in front of his dads store i try to help if i can. I made a post about it if i can find it

**** that, I dont stop for anyone. In this day of age, its probably not a good idea to stop. Its just not safe anymore. I have seen people get robbed for trying to be a good samaritan.

On the highway, there are too many broken down people. In parking lots, or whatever, if I have time, I'll ask.

not to be a di** or anything mogob, but aren't you the guy who leaves his car and house unlocked and supposedly not have any fear?

Yeah, I feel that. As I said, these were two 22 year old girls though, and a nice car...
If I hadn't come, they would have had to wait for AAA. Those lugs were on there way too tight, and the wheel was rusted on the hub. I was straining myself to get the lugs off... and I used to work in a garage mainly fixing people's flats... so I like to think that I'm fairly good at it, lol.

I don't normally stop on the highway just because its a pain in the ***, but I'll stop most other places.

I understand your point. The thing is, you never know who someone is on the road. We leave our house open a lot, just because its a nice neighborhood. I still worry about something happening out on the road though..

I always stop to help someone out. Not to sound like a religious nut, but I believe in karma and the Bible, and one of the main messages in the Bible is to help your fellow man out whenever you can.

When I was in high school I was like the only guy with jumper cables so I jump started many cars. Lol, one chick had a dead battery in her Del Sol and I had left my cables at home. So I ran home, came back, and her meathead boyfriend was pissed that I was helping her, so I told him to give her a jump off of his car. The moron didn't know what the heck he was doing and shocked himself.

I've stopped and helped out a couple of people when they need help to push their car off the road. I helped a teenager one time to find her key. I took an elderly man home one time because he was stranded and in need of help.

I can tell you a lot good things I did where a lot of them didn't even thank me for helping. It was as if I was doing them a favor.

I remember one time my truck ran out of gas. I asked this lady if she could give a ride to the gas station that was 10 miles away and it was on her way. She said NO!! Probably thought I would rape her 50 yr. old well you know what. I've asked a couple of other guys and they said NO. I literally paid someone $10 to take me there which was on their way and $10 to someone else to take me back.

That was a lesson for me. I never stop to help anybody out anymore. Plus since society as a whole has gotten worst I've become very cautious of helping strangers out.

Ive gotten used to it i guess. Im the only one of my friends that is mechanically inclined, so i'm always fixing someones car.

And i agree on the part about society going to hell. I have always been lucky enough to live in very safe areas, but some of the surrounding areas are pretty ****ty. I am in the process of finding a nice handgun (or two or three) and getting my concealed carry permit. My parents dont really understand why I feel that I need it, but they have been very sheltered, and after some of the sh!t i've seen... lol.

i don't think ill ever need a hidden weapons permit... but i will have guns.... because i like to hunt and shoot... as far as saftey goes... i think in my area ill be fine with my nice Kershaw knife
