i get cursed at for making the price for friggin pinestraw too high! pinestraw! if everyone grew their own vegetables the price of food wouldn't be that high. of course no one's going to do that but there are little things that could help.

I'll make sure I start on that in my upstairs apartment. I'll tell my 1200 neighbors also in apartments to do the same.

I don't even care about the gas prices anymore, nor the price of food. I NEED it, so there is no discussion about it. Regardless of whatever the price is, Im still going to buy it. Pissing and moaning about it isn't going to change anything.

Grow your own vegetables....only someone from SC would say that. Have you ever seen an apartment? Hell, a city for that matter?

You should care. Ignorance like that is how these oil companies are getting away with this.

Yeah everything is going up but one thing, wages. That midwest flood was crazy in Iowa. news did even say much at all about Iowa. Mason city was flooded out. 2 dams broke right near there. I think we need more then just a new president to make this country come around.

They're going to get away with it regardless. They have the oil, we want it. Its simple supply and demand. They are only going to refine so much to keep the price up, and seeing as tho most of the oil we get is from foreign sources, what are we to do? Its not ignorance. There is nothing I can do myself to curb the price of gas other than not use any. I have to work, so that goes out the window. There is NOTHING any individual on this board can do to lower the price of gas. You don't like the price, get a hybrid that gets 60 mpg, if you don't want to do that, take public transportation. Since neither of those are options to me, I have no choice but to pay the $4.29 I pay a gallon now.

I have more important things on my mind than to worry about gas prices.

i am damn proud to be from the south. but dont think for a second that i'm a stupid hick.
i live about 30 minutes from columbia. its not a very big city but its big enough. just cause you live in an apartment doesn't mean you couldn't grow stuff. now, you're not going to have a season's supply of crops but it's not impossible to grow stuff.

Who knows where things will lead, parents spend like 300-400 a week on groceries...and the dollar has gone down since the european union formed and the euro became stronger. Who knows if the north american union ever happens maybe the "amero" will grow strong. Though im totally against that plan. sorry for sidetracking here.

WTF am I going to grow? Oregano? The way my building faces, and with the abundance of those big wooden things called trees, I get almost no sunlight in here. Not to mention I don't have the room for such nonsense. So how the F*** am I going to grow anything? Big pot of topsoil and a tomato plant? Cmon...get real for once. The only organic thing that grows in this apartment is mold.

just forget it. i was just saying there are little things people could do to help themselves with the grocery bill. that was one of them.

you dont need actual sunlight either. just hook up lamps.

Yeah, where is the dirt and plant coming from? I think I would have to go out and buy this, but maybe I should steal it to save money? So this would turn into a $15 venture, for a $2 tomato. Awesome turnaround.
