Funny you say that. I actually have 2 tomatoes growing on the deck of my apartment. And oregano, basil and dill... my son's little garden.

You should care. Ignorance like that is how these oil companies are getting away with this.

Once again, it has NOTHING to do with the oil companies. If you have been either reading the news or watching tv you would know that oil companies from the middle east actually want to reduce their prices on oil. Even they think its to high.

I was reading in the paper awhile back when our price per barrel of oil went up about $10 in one day that there is this one man that makes these crazy assumptions about how our supply is down and the demand for oil around the world goes up. That is how the oil is making it's jumps.

As for growing your own vegetables and stuff. I had to help my grandma plant some in her garden yesterday. It's a smart idea but not in the midwest right, because of major weather changes going on. I had previously planted for her 5 other tomato plants and they all died from freezing believe it or not.

Recently in the news you see President Bush actually trying to pass a law to get rid of the ban on offshore drilling, Obama is against this but McCain isnt. So if you wanna see oil/gas prices go down in a couple years I would vote McCain for this reason. Also look at all the people in this country that don't want us to drill because we could destroy some wildlife. We have some 90 billion barrels of oil under this country and so much more offshore that we wouldn't need to buy as much oil from the Middle East.

Yeah, where is the dirt and plant coming from? I think I would have to go out and buy this, but maybe I should steal it to save money? So this would turn into a $15 venture, for a $2 tomato. Awesome turnaround.

You should be able to grow several tomatos so you would get a return on investment.


But I really have to point out the fact that you are *****ing about where you are going to get the Dirt? come on now dirt? Do you have to have topshelf miracle grow dirt? Personally, I'd check out an empty fiel and save some money. Seeds are cheap($0.50), use an old butter container, etc...


Don't worry I don't think its ideal to grow your own stuff, just pointing out it does not take much to grow tomatoes in your house. Actually one of my neighbors just started doing it and we live in tiny townhomes with near zero yard.






As for you guys *****ing about customers *****ing about pricing... **** I get *****ed at daily by customers about how outragous prices are at a movie theatre. Also how I because of me(I have control of it) I am affecting their "family budget" Takes nearly all of my internal self control to not say...


Well dumbass, don't do luxuries like go out and watch ****ing movies if you can't afford to drop $50 for your family of 4. I can't afford **** like that so I don't.

thats a good point, i never thought of that. However, it is reasonable to think that by the time the "rest" of the world runs out of oil, there will most likely be an alternative resource being used worldwide to fuel our cars, so i say go ahead and drill offshore. Heck, theres millions of gallons of oil under the great lakes!
