Re: So does your F body leaks oil?

          let's see
I either have a front crank seal, rear main/rear plate or oil pan leaking all or any combination of those leaking. What's weird is I will check the oil every couple of days for a few weeks and it doesn't move then one day I check and it's needing a quart. Either way I now keep 2 quarts in the trunk at all times.

Also the trans has a small leak somewhere and the rear end has a leak that seems to have sealed up now. I don't seem to be leaking water after a new radiator cap. P/S fluid hasn't leaked yet.

I flog my car pretty hard though and it has 120k+ miles so leaks are expected.

Rear main seal leak. No drips or stains on the driveway, just collects above the y-pipe. Every once in a while I can smell a drop burning on the pipe, but that's expected at 82,600 miles.

yea i'm pretty sure i have a rear main seal leak. 136k miles on the original motor, but i'm going to replace it soon, the smell on the down-pipe is really getting annoying

mine didnt leak oil on the ground... just leaked oil into coolant and coolant into oil.

I did see a 2k with less then 40k miles on it dumping alot of oil out the rear main seal.

My 3.4L never leaked any till my oil pressure sending unit got cracked, then it spewed nearly a quart every 70 miles while I waited for a part.

not really... the 3.4L was a $20 fix, just took 1 week to get the part, which I thought wierd. No leaks other then that.

The 3.8L? My 3.8L gave me alot of issues that lead me to believe not to believe all the hype of the 3.8L...

the 3.8L that was leaking an assload of oil from the rear main seal wasn't mine. It belonged ot another 3.8L guy.
