Question for all?

I ordered some flanges from PaceFabricating, the delievery took awhile, It got to my mail box. "Stamped all over it is Received Without Contents At and RECEIVED in bad condition at: ", so there are no flanges in the package envelope just a business card. It did have a tear in the middle but I don't think they got them through that spot. I took pictures of it and sent it to Pace, and they said I need to go to USPS and get a drivers statement. I emailed them back and said I don't know the drivers, they just drop the mail off at metal lock boxes at the end of the street. I also said that I don't have the ticket for the package that was mailed, so it would be there responsibility to file a damge claim on it, since I don't know if they took out insurance on it or not. I said I would drop the package at the post office here if they want to look at it. I haven't heard back from them yet, I ended it with they can refund my money or send another set of flanges. So my question is, I'm I responsible for filing a claim without having a ticket for the shipping and if it was insured? I payed through paypal so I think if I don't here from them I'll go ahead and dispute it. What do you think?

It was one of those bubble type envolopes, that only had a business card in it when I got it, but USPS stamped it about eight times saying recieved in bad condition at: and recieved without contents at: , so I don't know what happened to it.

I checked on USPS and the mailer has to file a claim. So I answered my own question and went ahead and disputed it through paypal since I haven't heard anything from Pace.

I've only had one issue where a package showed up missing stuff. I ordered some billet fuel rails and when the box showed up it looked like it someone had been playing football with it or something. There was a small hole in the side of the box. When I opened it there was only some -8 line and a couple of fittings in it, no rails. I called the place I ordered them from and they really stepped up and took care of everything. He just told me to put everything back in the box and tape it up good, and that he would take care of it. He sent me a new set overnight and the UPS driver picked up the other package when he dropped off the new one. Now that is certainly a little above and beyond what would be necessary to be considered good customer service, but at the very least, a business should be responsible for making sure their merchandise reaches their customers in good shape.

^ I agree, I know maybe the post office is bad on deliveries sometimes, but a company mailing a package should have insurance when sending it. I just didn't like their response when they told me to contact the driver of the post office to get a statement. That is kind of funny, because how would I know who delivered my mail and according to USPS , the mailer has to file a claim. So I thought it was kind of SH!tty of them to tell me to do what they should be doing in the first place, also not responding to my email. I guess next they would want me to dust for finger prints or maybe try to get a DNA sample to send out to CSI.LOL I'll see what happens with the paypal dispute, I'll keep you guys updated since they do post on this forum and at fullthrottle.

I used to do seasonal jobs for UPS, Fed Ex, Viking Freight, and USPS and to be honest with you all of them do a shotty job at delivering and hauling.

Now they want to send out another set if I pay $15.00 shipping, I said no , I'll take my refund. I think that is pretty bad CS, were sorry about the stituation but we'll send you another set if you pay shipping. This is almost worst then when my mom sent her grandson $50 dollar bill in a Birhtday card for his birthday, card came stamped damaged and their was no $50 dollar bill, I hope the person from USPS felt good for taking a 8 year old boys money.
