Hello
I just painted Nason sealer on my chevelle project. I like the dark color, and have been told it can be left as a top coat. It is only temp. I have to replace the Quarters in the nex couple of years, so I am not that worried about perfection. Do you guys know if the Nason Sealer will hold up.
Thanks, the pictures dont really show the flaws that a nice coat of black would show for sure. Working on put in a 525hm chevy 400 in the next two weeks. What do you think about keeping the sealer as a top coat?
it will be outside, rain and all. I will get a car cover, but other than that, It will be a street strip, not a show car. I was told the sealer is the best thing to do if it is going to be kept outside.
i've painted with ths stuff before . it's not ment to be a top coat , it'll eventully start caulking up . and it wont do anything to protect the rust plus it doesnt have uv inhibitors(spell)
It's designed to seall the color off giving it an evan color across the whole car , not a sealers as a rust encapsolator like pqr. i'v seen plenty of cars with primer sealer rust out . and if u put rustolum on ontop youll have to and the whole thing down again before you paint it , or the chemicals in the two paints will react with one another . the cheapest thing to do is just buy the the single stage nason paint and paint it .
If u spray rustlum on it , when u want to spay actual color youlll have to sand it off again , or give it a light sanding now then spray the color ,rustoluem cost about the same as a single stage paint so i would go with that .
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
