Like I said from this point it matters little what each of us say. I have been on this site long enough to see and read your points. Most of them I agree 100% with the ones I don't I respect your viewpoint as I do here.

Can we concede we have seperate viewpoints and respect them or should we keep going back and forth? I'm thinking there are better arguments for us to focus our time and energy on as this one has pretty much run its course.

My pay is the prevailing wage in Chicago for a 2nd year apprentice, which is $17.727 an hour, but I will top out as a JC at $35.44 an hour. Don't have to make numbers up, if you make more, great, if you don't, great.

Cool, appreciate the honesty. Where I am at is about 17.xx per hour day job. My business I make anywhere from 50-100+ an hour depends on who, where, what and when and the part time consulting will be minimum 10 an hour but varies a bit (no degree and I'm the associate in "& associates"). My business is a personal chef/caterer so I fully understand and appreciate your speaking of trades and skilled professions. Half the mofo's I've been around couldn't boil water.

And no I'm not one of those slum CEO types or slave driving manager types that you referred to earlier. The last catering gig I did I paid the girls that helped 20-25 an hour. Good money to put up with my **** when I dawn my chef's coat, i.e. ego.

35 an hour will be sweet but with your intellect (purely based on this debate) you could pull in more than that starting a business or going into consulting. It would take you away from the blue collar side you love  and give you a bit more of that greed you despise :spank: but a fat pocket is always nice.

Nice debate I'll research the union stuff some more so I can try to wrap my head around where your coming from, damned northeners, lol.

The ONLY reason why our union works, as well as the other trade unions in Chicago, is because they work WITH whatever management there is. But something you have to understand about trade unions is that usually, the contractors (owners) at one time were in the union. They have seen both sides of the fence, and no, they're not complete pushovers, but they know GOING INTO this business, you aren't going to get filthy rich.

As for my intelligence, well, I have no intentions on being union all my life, but I like the trade. My goal goes by either becoming a project manager with an RCDD, or getting my Cisco CCIE in IT security. Both are six digit incomes in this city, and whatever way I go, Im still going for my bachelors in telecommunications from either NIU or Purdue Univ.

                      Re: Inbev owns Anheuser-Busch

Cisco certs are awesome, I was going to get those myself in a few different areas, decided on culinary school instead, go figure. I can tell you the "entity" I work with we just hired a IT programmer consultant at 90 an hour and we have another on contract at I think 120. Almost any field within the IT sector is going to be strong. Project manager would be a fun gig just to have to work out all the logistics of everything going on. Since you started at the bottom you more than likely won't turn into one of the pain in *** ****heads who walks around like his **** don't stink. I hate dealing with any of our PM's whether it be in IT or Construction.

Well good luck, piss monkey out :D
