symptoms of strept?

ive never had strept throat before and im feeling like crap and wondering if thats what i have. i have absolutly no appitite which is weird for me (but ive still been forcing down food so i dont die) and ever since yesterday mid day ive been pretty light headed, my throat has been hurting really bad and im having wicked chest pains whenever im breathing.
usualy when im sick, i just kinda ride it out. maybe take some aspirin or something but just try to ignore it, but this is starting to be really annoying. so does this sound like strept or a heart attack or do i have really common symptoms for anything and its impossible to tell me

i have had strep twice in the last 12 months, never before then. but i know you start to run a fever and your throat gets inflamed, lots of swelling. the first time i had it it felt like i had a soar throat and big thing of flem in the back of my throat tried to cough it up turns out it was attached i ended up gagging and puking blood from it trying to break loose, went to the doctor and they said it was strep.

I used to get strept as a child a lot. Take a flashlight down your throat in the mirror and see if your throat is really inflamed and spotty. Or just go to a doc.

Spots on the back of the throat is a dead give away for strep. Also a good sign is if it is painful and almost unbearable to swallow. If you think you have it, go to the doctor. Its not really something that you can tough out, and antibiotics will make your life much much easier. Another way to treat it is gargling salt water, but not nearly as effective.

well i cant see any spots in my throat. what kind of spots am i looking for? are they like black or something or are they hard to see?

They are small darker red spots contrasting the pinkish color of your throat iirc.

i see veiny lines that are darker red, but no spots.

i had it twice... once this year... my throat swelled up, made it hard to swallow (eat, drink)... i never really got chest pains though... just go to the doctor, if you do have it, which sucks.. you take a pill for a while, no big deal

Go to a doctor before it gets worse... I've had it once and my sister has had it about 5 times. One day quicker to the doctor is usually about 4 days less of being sick when it comes to strept.

you are not contagious after 48 hours of antibiotics.

yeah just go to doctor and get some pills, your co-workers would appreciate it if you got it checked out.
