Am I the only one who hates flip up headlights?

I know I am going to piss off ~half the peopel on the board.


But I hate flip up headlights, never really was a fan. I think cars look wierd with them down since well. there are no headlights. Then I think they look wierd when they lights are up and on.


Then lets get into all the problems they have. They seem to be problematic on just about every car in production that has them.



Just random thought of the day, since I saw a 4th gen 98+ firebird, flip his lights on and they grinded like hell and one stayed down.


Also I don't think any new car even comes with them anymore?

Mine are grinding but they work fine... I haven't taken time or money to fix them yet. IMO they look awsome and I would take my grinding pop ups over anything else. When down the car looks slicker.

i love mine. looks better not having ugly *** lights sticking out and keeps the car nice and smooth looking.

i love the c6 vettes, but the head lights ruin it for me. they looked much better hidden away like they were on the c5

Whenever I see one with its lights on all I think is. "Damn its ugly how much those headlights stick out."

during the day it looks sweet, but at night they look horrible. the light sticks out like a sore thumb; and if one gets stuck, then your car looks just horrible. I like the body of the 98+ birds, but the only reason why I don't even look into getting one is the headlights. Now, if someone did a conversion, similar to that $1000 one on eBay, then I'd be intersted :)

Ill take my C5 over a C6 anyday, due to the headlights. I dont want to see them in the day time.

Pop up headlights :~

Headlight ON : ugly pos... looks horrible due to sticking out of the body.
Headlight Off: Pretty good ... looks decent.
Watching the headlight pop up: Cool factor ... saw a c5 vette do it and as it drove away .. :tup:

hated mine at first because they made that horrible grinding noise...bought the brass gears for 40 bucks and now i love them...also good for catching deer and keeping them off the hood/through the windshield...:eek:

Pop up lights have been around since the early '60's. Think Corvette.

I myself love it. Everytime I flip the light up or down my birds in a public place people stare.

In my opinion pop up lights on the Firebird 98+ is best looking ones ever. I mean it looks good either up or down.

I like the pop up lights on 4th gen Vette moreso than 5th gen Vette, because the lights actually flip at a 180*

ive always wanted to design a flip up headlight for the 93-97 camaro. that way you could install hids or something and not worry about how ****ty they look during the day.

I like pop up lights, mine used to grind, fixed the headlight motor, and now its great.

i like them but pisses me off bc the right eye has lazy eye and takes 2 times to get it up
