Chrysler Corporation told surprised dealers Friday that it will stop issuing new car and truck leases next week. There will be no new leases after July 31st.



The decision comes as the value plummets for used vehicles -- in particular trucks and SUVs -- leaving manufacturers with vehicles with poor value at auction once the leases expire...

BTW not to make a case of it or anything, but on May 14, 2007 DaimlerChrysler AG announced the sale of 80.1% of Chrysler Group to American private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, L.P., leaving just 19.9% owned by Diamler, meaning that their other brands probably won't see any ill effect of this. Thing is, they can't sell them if they're cutting the workforce making them, but they can't pay for them if they're not seeling them. Sad thing is that all three are in the same circular position.
