i've been with Verizon for YEARSSSSSSS now. but i've been thinking about switching carriers.

i've never had a problem with verizion and i really love the service. there has been times the past month or so that i've had problems getting signals. but my phone could just be cr@ping on me.

i always had a family plan with my husband but now he has a cell threw work(Verizon) so we still talk and text for free. so now i'm on my own plan(more money cause it's not split in half). but his work will be moving over to cingular in a few months(NO IN TALKING OR TEXTING).

now my family and friends, it's half and half with verizon and cingular. so my mins will still be the same. not worried about text cause i'm a freaking text-a-holic and have unlimited texting.

i can get on a family plan with my sister. and save a few bucks. but she's with cingular. and i don't know if i want to change

i had att yearrrrrrrrrrrrs ago and they sucks a$$ so bad.

is there ne one else out there who had cingular and came to verizion or the other way around.

who did you like more? and why did you change?

I switched from cingular to verizion. Verizion is better hands down. better signal and service. Of course the signal really depends ont the area (dont think you should have a problem with either carrier in your location). Plus it doesnt hurt that i get a 22% discount through my work.

Kristen, wow, we're guys we don't want to read all that to get the essentials. Let me simplify that so the guys on the board can understand that better.

...I'm with verizon...I'm thinking about changing...Who are you with?...Pros and Cons?

Oh ok I'm with T mobile, service sucks and wouldn't advise it. Good service in cities but terrible outside of them.

i have cingular, its ok. service goes in and out sometimes and its annoying but its not too bad. my girlfriend has verizon and hers does the same crap. plus the phone they gave her keeps having problems.

so, really there prolly wont be much of a difference other than maybe cost?

It really depends on where you are.

I've had AT&T since they were Bell South (then AT&T Mobile, then Cingular). I love them; never had a problem. My wife, before we were married, got her phone though Verizon. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! She wouldn't get her messages, lost calls, no signal. Messages she would send out to people would be delivered in a week. Her Mom, Dad and sister had Verizon (they now are on AT&T as well). Since we got married, she dropped them and came over to my AT&T plan. No problems since.

Now, my family lives in Ohio. They ALL have Verizon and love it. Every time I go up there, I have to use one of their phones sometimes, 'cause I don't have signal. I also would have trouble sending emails out.

some caries are stronger in different locations
like bone said in Atlanta ATT is the best imo, but i have traveled to different parts of florida and had no signal where t-mobile and verison did.

im pretty sure att is the largest in the country, cant be too bad for you.

I'm on my parents family plan, and they have had verizon since cell phones came out. I always get service in my house, at work, and 99% of places I go. My girlfriends family had Cingular/ATT forever, and switched over to Verizon last summer. Well wouldn't you know that her house and around her house is pretty much a dead spot, where with Cingular she was fine. She has trouble receiving calls and texts when she is home.

Just the other week I was at a party and it seemed the whole house and area around the house was dead. I couldn't get any bars until I left, drove up the street a little and got great service. So I wouldn't say Verizon is any better then AT&T or the other way around, just depends on where you are.

              AT&T has the iPhone. :)

                thanks for the feedback

sister has the iphone and hates it. lol

and i would never spend that much on a phone. i'm hard as he1l on them. working on cars, dropping them in the process, gettign them greese, leaving them in engine bays while i drive around with them in there, falling out of my pocket climbing a moutain etc. lol

i have verizon and enjoy it , every time i have a problem the cust. service has been awesome. i have a few friends with cingular and they don't care for it but then again not much signal out here in the boonies of florida.Honestly just pick the carrier with the phone you want.

well, AT&T and Cingular are now the same, and I've heard they still suck. I have Nextel and they aren't bad, but the phones are overpriced and a limited selection. My dad had Verizon and he loved it; he switched to Nextel with us, because of the Direct Connect feature. I'd stick with Verizon; Nextel/Sprint would be my 2nd choice. Cingular/AT&T would be my last choice. Nextel does have the military grade, brick phones. I had one of them; I played hackysack with it, then would call my mom....

I got T-Mobile, it works great in cities, but go into the country or lesser populated suburbs and you barely get a bar. Verizon was much better.

our family used to have singular... but a few years ago we switched to verizon.... way better reception, and in more places... i can make calls while hunting in the woods :D, plus, more people have it around here, so most of my calls are free :)

I'm on a nationwide family plan with Alltel. The service is pretty good. When I go skiing in Colorado, I'm the only one able to talk in the bowls and valleys, being the only one with Alltel. Everyone else has maybe one bar at best, if not any service. My Circle works pretty well, I can talk with a certain number of people with a different carrier (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, etc) and it counts as Mobile to Mobile free minutes, day/night/weekend. The customer service is another thing, but that's primarily in my local area. I've had only a few problems with them, typically from the fragile phones that I end up buying and breaking within a year. But that's like any other service provider, all these phones are pieces nowadays. Typically in the end, they get everything right, just with minimal headaches.

In short, Alltel has best nationwide coverage, very few service problems, fairly good customer service (probably better in your area), and the bills usually come in about the same amount every month. They don't tend to slip many hidden fees in there.

That and Verizon just bought out Alltel, so it might be another improvement.

I have a Sprint phone and aircard, and they both work pretty well. My aircard is faster in more places, where EVDO RevA is supported in more cell sites than Verizon's. I hardly ever get garbled audio on the cell phone.

The customer service is way better now too, since their new CEO.

FYI: coverage varies even by phone models...my wife has the Sanyo M300?, which has more bars than my Sanyo SCP3200 side-by-side.

I have had Verizon for the past 4 or 5 years and I love it. I get service when none of my friends will. I just don't think they have a good phone selection, but thats all.
I would just stay with verizon if I was you...
