it depends on how it is.. im taking the block to a machine shop, if it is ok, then im just getting it honed and re ring it.. i was thinking of boring it .030 over but i want to put the money into my new block

i have a feeling im going to end up junking the block though

Very nice...and when you do arrive to the machine shop have them machine the caps to a splayed four bolt main set-up if you want to run 600HP reliably and toy with any power adders in the future.

Some might argue that a 2 bolt main will suffice but I like the peace of mind with a 4 bolt main for lower block strength.

i would never buy a 2 bolt block, but with this block, the 2 bolt is actually far stronger than the 4 bolt

the 2 bolt will hold up fine until about 700hp and 6000rpm

i would LOVE to add splayed main caps on there, but it is so darn expensive.. ill have to see what he charges for drilling/tapping the holes and align hone it

That is a crime against humanity!
If that car is a true Z28, ditching the 302 will ruin it. Do everything you can to save it, even if it just sits in the shed, the original engine (especially this one) is valuable. It is so rare.

You can, and should, run the new engine, just keep the 302! Haha...

                              its not a z28 car nor a z28 engine

although it does have 67' z28 internals
