is that the auto with 3.08s or 3.42s?

if alot of people are passing you, who cares? Obviously, if they're passing you, then you aren't posing a problem to them since they were able to safely get around you. But w/e...if you wanna waste gas because you feel too emasculated by getting passed by people, then don't start threads asking how to improve fuel economy.

I use premium, but the temp was around 60-65 degrees last time i made HPT logs

But I cannot wrap my mind around a 3.8L A4, 4.10s, and a cam averaging 30 mpg.... still calling BS on it. Well unless you got V-tek!

Sounds like a little bit of the internet chest puffing.

hell I tuned my v6 to run this fast!

Do you have access to his HPT file? For all you know, he coulda been running dangerously lean, in order to save gas...that's the power of tuning; you can make your car do virtually anything you want it to do. But, as you've demonstrated, you don't really know much of anything, so I guess that's probably a bit beyond your understanding

grr... just beyond my understanding, I had/have hptuners myself. I have tuned my car with it and even ran some great times with it.

Even if he did figure a way to run his car dangerously lean, I woudl call him an even bigger ****ing moron then he already is.

Pop a motor and risk $500-750 for a replacement junker motor, to save $100 in gas. Great idea, same kind of guy that drives 20 miles to save $0.05 a gallon in gas on a 15 gallon fillup.

I been on the web awhile, lol too much. Also been around v6 f-bodies, actually been around and was racing them for 10 years(crazy when I think about it) had records in one(well for like 3 years, and ran great times with another) I was even a moderator on this board for more then one section, but was taken away because I just sometimes cannot let an argument go.

Unfortuneately this is one of those ones. I see people exaggerate make great claims all the time on the web, I usually let them pass but this one is too ****ing rediculous.

              A4, cam, 4.10s and 30 mpg LOL....

that is definitely a given. But that wasn't real world conditions, if ti was real world conditions with either stoped or 45 mph cruising, to 70 mph cruising, the Prius would have torn the M3 up. It probalby didn't even use the battery size.

My dads 2k1 C5 gets 32-34 mpg on the highway. But that is attained to the fact that on the highway in 6th gear with cruise control the car is at like 500 rpms. An A4 3.8L with 4.10s will be nowhere near that, probalby like 3k rpms, and at idle with the cam at stoplights I am willing to bet it uses more gas then a regular 3.8L.

To which I still call BS on it.

I know of cammed ls1's averaging 30 mpg.....

                    2002 SOM Z28 Camaro - 12.9 @ 104 mph
                    1996 3800 Camaro - 13.43 @ 100.77 mph

Was it an a4 with 4.10s.

most 6-speed ls1s average better fuel mileage then 3.8Ls.

                        why are you so offensive/confrontational/douchey?

i never asked how to improve my economy, reread my post. i was just telling what it was. if i wasnt happy with my ~20mpg, id obviously change my driving habits.

also its really not that safe to drive in the left lane and have people passing you on the right.

if i did want to go slower, id obviously be in a different lane.
