Could anyone give me a hand and post a picture of their engine? It can be any 3.4. I am specifically looking for a picture of the fuel rail area.

long story short, i'm at the tail end of swapping out my locked engine for a new one, but i can't figure out what hoses go onto the vacuum t-fitting on the top, rear of the intake plenum. behind the fuel rail. One hose goes to the brake booser, and the other side, well, i haven't a clue.

On a better note, I've pretty much figure out everything else. trans and clutch back in, exhaust about done, wiring almost back together, only need this fitting figured out, then the fuel rail, power steering pump, all the cooling lines, and a few misc. parts and that should be that...

i'll have my camaro back on the road for the first time in a year, so that will be pretty sweet. Hell, since that track day at maple grove over 2 yrs ago, i've probably driven the thing about 2k miles...

I have a few engine bay pics on my cardomain. Maybe you can spot what you need there?

The picture helps ( http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...59_24_full.jpg ), but there is a hose in the way of what i'm trying to see...

Any chance you would have any other shots? Or might be able to see where the two hoses go to, that are branching off that vacuum connector at the rear of the intake plenum? I'd greatly appreciate any help you could offer...

      thanks,

im not 100% sure but the only other vacuum thing i can think of would be the evap thingy.

i do remember there are some vacuum hoses inside the wire loom, maybe its one of those youre missing?

hmm... I'll have to check the wire looms. not sure about the evap either, though that would also make sense. I couldn't find what this thing hooked up to looking at an empty engine bay, so I was thinking it would have been something that I took off and misplaced. However, the parts pile doesn't have anything left that would work.

could it be for the air pump? That things not going back on, so I'll have to plug it if thats the case.

ok, so i found a vacuum diagram on Autozone's website. the fitting that I cant figure out, is called out as "to ascry" or "to access", which I assume to mean "to accessory".

question is now, what accessory? bear in mind, this is a manual trans, and the other end is already going to the power brake booster.

            any thoughts?

            Thanks in advance

Phil, I am not exactly sure which connector you are talking about. Can you download my pic, circle the hoses you are talking about, and I can go pop the hood and follow them for you. Right now, the car is only 10 ft from me, so I can check quickly.

the t-fitting? iirc, it goes to the "orb of power", third gen ref for vacuum tank, and then to the hvac controls (goes into the firewall)

I was thinking that it might be to something like the HVAC controls... but I can't seem to find the vacuum hose that would connect to it. Unless it's buried in the wire loom.

I modified that picture to show the location of the t-fitting. The arrow is pointing to the where the brake booster hose goes into the fitting. I need to know what goes on the other side.

Thank you all for your help...

There should be a hose map on the underside of your hood. That "T" connection at the back of the intake should connect to a hose that is inside the wire loom for the fuel injection wires it feeds the vent controls for the heater and a/c and also feeds the vacuum for the fuel tank canister.

excellent! I'll take a look at it tonight, as soon as I get off work. Never thought to look for a hose map... Hood and radiator support are both laying in my garage right now.. I'll def. have to do remember that next time (and by next time, i mean if and when i ever get my hybrid 3500 built up... )

                      Thanks for the help!
