Re: Knife recomendation?
I'm worried about all the references to knife fighting. Knives aren't for fighting- you've watched too many movies. Also not for scaring people, If I had a 3 foot pipe in my hand, kid with a 3 inch knife isn't going to worry me all that much.
I wouldn't want to hurt anyone, but I do protect my safety. This knife thing is really out of character for me, but I'm not comfortable with being completely unarmed. I've known a couple of who've carried box cutters, actually. And one who actually did end up using it. Worked fairly well from what I hear.
Anyway, I've done a little research and kershaw seems like a good choice, though I'll have to take steps to make it less reflective, don't want to attract attention. I know a kid who went to jail for 3 months because of a misunderstanding combined with the fact that he was gesturing with a butterfly knife (closed). What an idiot

I also recommend hitting up a range and giving some handguns a try. I will be buying 2 or 3 in january (when I turn 21). Most likely an xd45 compact (carry), an S&A 1911 (range) and maybe a .22 for plinking.

I'm sure it would be fine as a backup gun... but I would not want to rely on the stopping power of a .22 to save my life!

Re: Knife recomendation?
carry a large *** umberlla, one of the ones with a pointed tip; have a decent weapon when need be, and a shelter for when it rains :).
I have a few knives, and without proper training I wouldn't try to use one in a fight; I've been shown a few things, hopefully just enough to save my life if need be; I also carry around a lighter disguised as a gun. Worst comes to worst I pull that and run for my life :P~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

Re: Knife recomendation?
I use a gerber multi-tool for work. I have had the thing for 5 years or so, have used it for roofing and other fairly intense work. The thing has held up AMAZINGLY. If I was to buy a new knife, it would definitely be a gerber.2002 SOM Camaro- Sold

Re: Knife recomendation?
.357 mag snub nose, seriously if you want something for protection you can't beat it, doesn't jam and the first time you fire off a round everything in a 100 yards is running the other way :D
wife has a small 5 shot Ruger VERY nice shooting gun, too small for me though but accurate as hell.-Brad
98 Firebird - gone from mod mode to keep it running and useable mode.
2000 V-Star Custom 1100
If all else fails use a bigger hammer!
