Sounds nice, just need to get it timmed, it still backfires through the carb.
What does the 440 put out? This 400 puts out a little over 500. We will see if the 10 bolt holds out.

We dont know yet, hasnt dynoed it and probably wont. The old setup which was the same block bored to 414, only 11:1 compression, mild cam and 850 cfm carb put down 480 rwhp. The new setup is a much nastier cam, MUCH better intake and a 1150 cfm carb with a 13:1 compression ratio. Should be pretty powerful.

BTW, your 10 bolt is toast if its putting out 500 hp LOL.

Keep us updated, pretty sick project you got there

                    Re: Chevelle start

I expect the 10 bolt to go fast, going to change that right after the trans. What do you think 12 bolt or ford 9 inch.

**** that, Ford 9". Only thing Ford had on GM was the 9" rear end.

They both seem to be around the same price. I have been told that 9 inch is better.
Going with a turbo 400 next
