      Re: The Complaint Thread

And have some damn post limits for n00bs. Or at least a sticky suggesting alternative hobbies. Noobs are guaranteed to say some stupid ****. When you have 3000 posts in less than a year, I'm willing to bet that 99% of them made some poor ******* jump out of his bedroom window. I post on here every day, and I still have less posts than most people who have been here 2 years less than I have! Which ties in with this next point...
Postwhoring is what drives me away from this place. When you open up an interesting thread, but it has been taken over by n00bs (and some vet's) who just want to up their post count and seem funny, it discourages people from posting relevant information!
So many helpful threads are sent to sh!t by people who don't have anything better to do. Either the topic gets hijacked too far, or it ends up getting locked... but this has been happening WAY too much lately!

        Re: The Complaint Thread

The whole noob thing is really, really stupid. I'm not sure why people think they are 'vet' or whatever.

It's a website. In a little under a year, you're about to get a ton of 'noobs' from the new Camaro v6's looking for information. I've had my Camaro for almost 5 years now and I've read this site for a long time, but never needed to post until recently when I wanted to do my t-top conversion. Does that make me a noob? What if someone that was really good with cars signs up, is he some noob because he just started?

That's the kind of crap that drives people away from the site, and considering the old v6's are a dieing breed, we shouldn't be driving anyone away.

          Re: The Complaint Thread

N00bs are the people that come on and ask stupid questions, take sh!t personally, get all defensive at everything, etc. You know the ones. And if you are going to get all butthurt at the acknowledgment of said n00bs, you might be included. Yes, we get some cool new people, but we get a lot more retarded ones. Too many people are too eager to jump in and post their little hearts out, before reading around and seeing what is kosher and what is not!
Just think about highschool freshmen. Theyre so happy to be out of middle school, have their own lockers, freedom and whatnot. They sit in the back of the cafeteria and fondle each other. They are having a blast... but the rest of the school laughs at them!

I do NOT consider myself a vet, btw.

            Re: The Complaint Thread

You know what is kinda funny?

This is probably the third or fourth major thread full of complaints and/or suggestions about this site in the past few months and NOTHING has been changed.

Honestly, unless one of you buys this domain from TealV6 and makes the changes yourself, then I dont foresee anything changing.

Im not trying to be a downer here nor am I poking at anyone, but this site has needed overhauled for a long time and has been suggested many times yet it hasnt happened and probably wont.

Andy is very close to the EXACT replica of what mod could/should be for this site.

                            Re: The Complaint Thread

One thing that can be fixed, is people giving their own opinion on how to fix things that are not correct and may blow up the other persons car in the end. Also would like to see more of the moderators posting and not letting threads get out of hand. Other than that the site is easy to use and has alot of info in the engine, tech and mod section. I think if newbies read through those their would be alot less of the same posts, also they need to search what they are going to ask before they ask a question. Can there be away to make newbies have to search so many times before they ask a question? Say they have to search 5 times until they can post a thread until their post count is around 100 or so. Also like to say great site and thanks for having it, Steve

IMO, exhaust is one of the sections that needs an ACTIVE mod. So that may be an idea.
