we need to find out the sections with mod problems that need a new mod, and then we can start nominating andy.

          Re: The Complaint Thread

First, I agree with the call for a Canadian section...it'd be nice to have some place where the Canadians on this board can talk and not get bashed anytime the word Canada is mentioned...I know you guys love to kid about all things Canadian, but it really gets old quick.

Although I recently sold my 3.4 I'm hanging around as mod of the fifth gen section because if all goes well I will be picking up a fifth gen within a few months after its release. I'm still undecided between the 3.6 or the 6.2, but I will stick around on here either way. This brings me to my second point...someone had mentioned having seperate sections for 3.4 and 3.8...well I would also like to point out that a 3.6 section would squeeze nicely between the two. I know its a little early, but it can't hurt setting it up before the Camaro is released. In other words, while the Fifth gen section is very useful right now (especially with all the help from Iwanna..., a.k.a Will) in order to attract new members the 5th gen section is going to need to branch out. Seperate gen. tech and advanced tech section for the 5th gen. would be great just to avoid confusion when the 5th gen noobs start posting about their rides.

I hope some of these good suggestions don't go by the wayside. Things need to change around here to accomodate the new Camaro or things will fizzle out as 3rd and 4th gen Fbodies get parted out, get destroyed as a result of drunken accidents, or fall into states of disrepair.

One last thing, just to say something positive about this site...I recently bought a Dodge Magnum, and while a lot of those forums are great, I can say that I still prefer this site's layout hands down as the LX forums I'm on have far too many sections and can become quite daunting to sift through.

          just my $0.02

            Re: The Complaint Thread

i bet if we could get a couple people working on making a database or faq section or whatever, it wouldn't take too long. but ya'll have said it already. not many people will use it. they'll keep asking the same questions over again. and i too think andy should be a mod. i think bone is doing a good job as of yet but another mod wouldn't be a bad idea. mods... exercise the ban button temp ban people for insulting other users. ya'll can ban right? do it. plenty of people deserve it.

^^^ I agree with you on the updated faq sheet. Make it a sticky in the New people area (If created) so people can make them refer to it if a question is asked that has already been answered

why do you guys seem to think having more mods is always the answer?

I think as long as we keep the link to the original guide on there, no one should have any problem with us copying the stuff over. It's just a way to centralize all the information and guides that we have.

Im not quick to ban people, mainly because I have hope that whatever can change. Usually Im wrong, but I still don't ban people. Its not a control thing, I don't want to perceive myself as some power mongering *******.

i think its more of a quality versus quantity issue if you ask me.

this isnt really a website issue...just my .02...but i guess my idea is for anybody that has some down time...maybe just sit down and do a write up on something and post it up...even something little like how to replace an alternator or coils or something....i know those are things most people should know and be able to figure out on their own....but it might cut down on those questions where everybody just says "search" or "are you kidding me?!?!?!" and definitely in depth write ups are good....i dont always need to know how to do something but i just like to read how other people did it sometimes...
