so ive been looking to buy an old classic car and restoring it and dont really know where to start. i want some advice as in what are the best cars to look for and where to look and stuff like that. i dont want to spend over 3k. im not looking for anything insane, just an old muscle car that has the potential to be sweet. only place i know of is craigslist and local newspaper which does have some but not a whole lot.
If you're looking for a classic car right now, Mustangs are one to avoid. Just went through that mess helping a friend find one. I never thought I would see so many rust buckets sitting in the back yard or garden in the country. Fastbacks especially... everyone thinks they're sitting on a gold mine.
'99 Camaro
'04 Saab 9-3 Aero
'90 Audi Coupe Quattro
Jus some suggestions, when you do look at one make sure its gotta good straight body and frame, and minimal or no rust is awesome, if you can find anything like that at a good deal your already half way done with with the project lol.. 2nd gen camaros are startin to get pretty big in my area i see more done up every year. and i love mine.
it is much better to buy a more expensive car and put less money into it than to buy a cheaper car and try to fix the panels, etc.
any old muscle car under $5000 is going to be a complete piece of crap that you will be investing over $10 k into.. while a $10,000 muscle car may only require about $2k to fix up really nice, and be a huge less heartache

Very true - I wouldn't spend less than $10k unless I had an awesome shop, technical skills and access to inexpensive parts.
Chevelles are great, but hard to find. It took me a while to get mine. I agree 100% with paying more for a car in better shape. Some cars look nice, but you find all kinds of problems when you start pulling it apart.
Hi, everyone. We bought a 97 base model convertible Camaro and someone broke the motor ... Lights were blinking on the dash and that someone ignored the...
Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
