So I was driving to class the other day and I see up ahead a Firebird/Trans Am heading my way in the oncoming lane. Black just like mine, ram air hood, nice and clean. Definitely owned by someone who took care of his car. As it passed me I felt the need to wave at my fellow F-body owner when I heard the rumble of his v8. He passed not acknowledging me at all. So I figured he realized I was driving a 6 and didn't bother. Do you guys driving v8's feel like the people driving v6s aren't "worthy" enough, so to speak.
Just a thought I had. That moment made me want to have an LS1.
I always acknowledge the v6'ers, but only if I can tell they really put effort into there car. Like if its filthy and stock I probably won't wave or nothing.lol.
personally i couldnt care what motor is under the hood, a clean fbody is a clean fbody.
I agree.
Sometimes when I drive the RS around people are like "well it's a nice clean car, but too bad it doesnt have the LS1." I just smile and tell them I have a few of those at home. No need to drive them everyday. They usually give me a dirty look.
I wave at pretty much every F-body I see.. I do see some ****head LS1 owners out there But I try my best not to be.. Thats one of the reason I kept my SLOW-V6 plates. To remind me of were I came from..
Jeff ..
1998 Firebird.. Built 3.8 with a 125 shot.. 370rwhp,415rwtq.. stock tune!! sold
theres a white T/A around that honks at my house when he goes by and always waves when he see's me.
theres a 69 SS that always revs at my house and waves. ( dad went to school with him )
theres two black ls1 formula's that both wave.( ones my brothers friend )
and this 300lb short guy in a chevelle that always honks and waves.
if i see someone with a nice car outside washing/waxing/ect i stop and see whats up, i know alot of local people its nice.
even when i see a vette i give the thumbs up out the window and they always reply some how. but my car stands out alot more now with the stripes.
1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock

Originally posted by Rune:
If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.
one good friend i made at school was all bc of our cars...he had a ta and he didnt care...as long as it was an fbody; we always used to rip on mustangs.
Oddly enough, I get the most attention from creepy old guys in vettes. Or mid-30 guys that can't believe a girl knows how to take care of a guy. Lol.
Other than that, I get a few waves, thumbs up, or looks from LS1 owners that take care of their cars. And I always try to nod or smile at a clean F-bod. But there are more beaten pieces out here than clean cars.

Car expresses who you are. If you have a ****ty car, you must be a ****ty person;)

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/995979
Unless you're on a Harley and you're waving to someone who's on a Harley you shouldn't be waving at anybody else.
heres my view on Harley dudes waving...
they are ****ing tools. "hey look at me and my loud *** annoying bike thats slow as ****, i better wave to the other tool with his lous *** annoying bike thats slow as ****, hopefully later he'll come join my circle jerk"
i have beef with Harley guys, mainly because they dont get a look from the cops when they rev their overly annoying bikes up constantly, and yet a nicely done, cammed car gets pulled over constantly and its not even close to being as loud as most bikes, just driving down the road normal.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

True but there's more comradarie with Harley guys because they are enthusiast. People with F-bodies are often times stuck with their cars. As soon as an opportunity to opt for a Vette or better comes along they take it. One guy with an LT1 vette once told me that F-bodies are like Fisher toys of sportscar. So F on Fbody stands for Fisher toy. It's where you start as a kid and you're suppose to grow out from it. Ofcourse I was upset.
Besides, if you wave to a guy in an F-body they'll start thinking you wanna race. Which is true by way. I was talking to a guy once at Sears who had a Supped up Camaro V6 and we were admiring each others car. Next thing you know he's egging me on for a race, which I'm not interested in a street race.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
