  • Car's done, feels amazing

Finally am all done and set with my engine swap, and the car feels great. Im not sure if its the practically brand new engine or if they did something different with the 03 3.8 fwd engines that they didnt do with the f-body engines but with only minor mods intake/exhaust/ect the car feels tones better, pulls harder, and seems faster then my old engine ever did. Im extremely happy

And on a side note, those of you may remember me having clutch problems. Well i saw that there was a crack in my firewall where my master was mounted. Every time i would press the clutch pedal the wall would flex out a little. So i took a piece of sheet metal and welded it on there to reinforce the wall and my clutch feels great. Not sure if my clutch has ever felt this good. Which makes me think if the firewall cracking/flexing is common on f-bodies?

That's good news indeed. So did you figure that clutch out yourself? I probably wouldn't have figured something like that unless there's a real mechanic next to me.

I heard once that the tranverse 3.8 in Buicks are slightly powerful than ours. Like 205hp and 230tq.

Congrats, are you going to put your cam back in? My firewall was good, and thats with over 10 years with the M5.

                  Wut?

He swapped in a 3.8 long block from a Buick. They are EXACTLY the same on the FWD and RWD cars.

You did have alot of miles on the last motor, and if the master was banging on the firewall you probably had alot of false KR, not letting your engine go in to the high Oct. setting. Just taking a guess. Glad to see it is running again. We should be moving into a one story here shortly. Close on the 22nd then just need to have some of the interior painted(per wife), but the garage is bigger than the one now, still 2100sqft so about the same sqft of our 2 story but now I don't have to climb stairs,my back will like it. I'll have to give you directions for it , I still don't know where it is.LOL
