After spending all that time getting the T-Tops on, I only had about a few months to really enjoy them.
On the way to the airport yesterday, a lady came into my lane. I was right next to her, so I swerved to my left to avoid her. As I was correcting and straightening out, she was still in my lane or something and hits me in the back of the passenger door. She ended up spinning my car around (all this while doing 65-70) 180 degrees and I slide across 3 lanes of traffic. As if that wasn't enough, I fall into a ditch and then slide up a hill and land on top of the hill, on another road.
I had my seatbelt on, so my only damage are some bruised muscles. She said that she was feeling dizzy afterwards, but she seems fine.
After it all stopped and I checked myself out and was ok, I ran down to her to see how she was doing. I asked her what happened and she said "I was just trying to switch lanes." I replied "ya, I was there."
I was able to drive it home, but it was a very cautious drive and I'm pretty sure it's totalled. The drivers side T-Tops don't fit on anymore (they were off while I was driving), which sounds like the frame might've shifted. The passenger door has a huge hole in it on the backside. Both passenger fenders need to be replaced, as well as the hood and both bumpers.
There's glass and dirt all over my car and while I'd like to think it can be fixed, I doubt it's going to happen considering she's 11 years old.
At one point, I was completely sideways sliding at 60mph and I was worried that the car was going to flip. Somehow I didn't and to top it all off, I crossed 3 lanes of traffic and landed on another road, all without being hit again.
I'm feeling pretty lucky to be able to still be here in one piece. I haven't even bothered looking at another car yet and I have my 2 motorcycles and my gf's car, so I'm in no hurry.
The girl changed her story for insurance and told them that I came into her lane, so I know this is going to be messy. I'm hoping that when they come and look at the damage tomorrow, they can see what actually happened.
Anyway, I have some pictures on my phone of the carnage. I'll upload them in a few. I'll miss that Camaro :(
